Bethlehem Catholic takes down Allentown Central Catholic 34-31 in round 2 of the Class 4A District Playoffs. The Hawks were trailing at half 13-24, but as soon the second half started rolling all the momentum was in their favor. Three unanswered touchdowns put the Hawks up, but the Vikings created a few turnovers at the end of the 4th quarter to put themselves in position to try and make a comeback; with just 2 minutes left Quarterback Patrick Cahill threw a deep bomb to Jonathan Bechtel to put the game at 34-31. Bethlehem recovered onside kick but were soon stopped on 4th down to give the ball back to the Vikings with just under a minute left, but Allentown CC’s comeback hopes were short lived as a sack followed up by a fumble secured the game for the Hawks. Bethlehem Catholic will take on Southern Lehigh next Thursday in the championship game.
