Matt Frame Sliced the Palmerton Defense to the Tune of 334 Yards and Five Touchdowns.

Lehighton- On a cold, dreary and rainy backdrop to the PIAA District XI 2A Championship Saturday afternoon in Lehighton, a star shone brightly for the Bulldogs of Northern Lehigh, running back Matt Frame was on top of his game leading his team to it’s first district championship since 2010 in a 64-34 route of Palmerton for the second time in a month and earning a spot in the state tournament next weekend.

Frame rushed for a career-high 334 yards on just 19 carries and the five scores. He scored on the first two drives for a 14-0 lead on runs of 3 and 72 yards. Frame added a one yard score in the second quarter giving the Bulldogs a 29-12 lead at intermission.

Trevor Amorim, Frames running mate also had himself a great game rushing for 70 yards and found the end zone three times as well in the win. The win also gave head coach Joe Tout his 100th win of his career.

Palmerton did all they could to try to match the Bulldog barrage of points, as Matt Marchalik scored on runs of 1, 69 and 28 yards and had a 56 yard touchdown pass to Danny Lucykanish, who avoided a couple of tackle attempts near the sidelines on his way to six points.

Northern Lehigh (9-3) will now face District 2 champions (8-3)Lackawanna Trail next week at a site and time to be determined. The Lions defeated Dunmore Friday 14-10.

After the game Frame had this to say about Saturday’s game.
