Tonight at Pennsbury the Bucks of CBW used a pounding ground game and a bend but don’t break defense to remain undefeated with a 20-3 win. CBW led the entire game, a game that only lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes with each team only having the ball on offense 8 times. Quarterback Cooper Taylor scored on the Bucks first and last drives of the game.

The Bucks started strong on the opening drive, driving 78 yards for the first points of the game. Taylor started the game with a 28 yard run then finished the drive with a 5 yard td run with 6:26 left in the first quarter.  Pennsbury failed to move the ball on their first drive and punted.

The Bucks went on another long drive that ended with a 31 yard field goal by Ryan Clemens to give CBW a 10-0 lead with 7:11 left in the first half. Clemens hit two fields goals on the night.

The Falcons had the last drive of the half when they recovered a CBW fumble on the 32. Quarterback Nathan Beighley rand for 12 then 38 yards, but the drive stalled and they too had to settle for a 31 yard field goal.

“I thought our guys just stayed with it. That’s a tough, physical team over there. It wasn’t clean, it wasn’t pretty, we had a bad turnover in the redzone there. But I was proud of how our kids kept playing” said CBW Head Coach Rob Rowan.

The second half was pretty much a mirror of the first. CBW couldn’t finish a drive and neither could the Falcons. Clemens made it 13-3 with a 27 yard kick 4 minutes into the third quarter. He missed on a 31 yard attempt late in the game. The Bucks got their final score, a one yard run by Taylor, after Pennsbury attempted a fake punt, a play that just completely blew up.

CBW moves to 4-0, a difference from last years 1-3 start. “We missed a couple shots early in the game, overthrew a wide open receiver. We had some self inflicted wounds but I’m not taking anything away from those guys. They played very hard. I think these guys really believe in each other. I think they’re just bought into each other” said Rowan.

“That’s the toughest team I’ve ever played against. We just put our head down and kept going. I did miss on a easy throw but that’s football” said Taylor of the game.

CBW hosts North Penn next week while Pennsbury has CB South.
