Cedar Crest Falcons Fly Past J.P McCaskey Red Tornado in Homecoming and L.L Conference Game
Final from Earl Boltz Stadium; Home of the Cedar Crest Falcons.
J.P McCaskey: 6

Kicking things off on this chilly night, Cedar Crest did not cash in on points in their debut possession. Immediately following, J.P McCaskey without even converting a first down were forced to punt. The Falcons started to fly from this point on. Getting things started for Cedar Crest was Junior halfback Isaiah Zimmerman on a touchpass down the sideline for the score to make it 6-0 after a missed PAT.

J.P McCaskey was looking to respond on their next possession, but they could not find a way to gain momentum. Senior Quarterback Liam Stinchfield nearly was strip sacked for a scoop and score on this drive. The play was called dead but the Falcons proved it didn’t matter. Having possession inside the J.P McCaskey 20 yard line was a cake walk for the Falcons and Junior Eli Beard as he extended their lead to 13-0.

When it rains, it really does pour as McCaskey just did not catch a break. Quinnes Jones- Hawkins had fumbled the following kickoff, leading to an impressive connection between Steven Reyes and Kai Speaks for Cedar Crest, making it 20-0 in just the second quarter. After punting once more, the Red Tornado needed a play to be made and that’s when the heart and soul of this locker room, Qua’May Pettway managed to force a takeaway on an impressive jumpball interception.
The Falcons, however, were unphased. Junior Mason Copenhaver stepped up and forced a takeaway of his own, giving his Falcons the ball right back. That was when the Falcons smelled blood and did not look back. Kai Speaks scored, once more to make it 27-0. For McCaskey, Qua’May Pettway continued to make plays as he grabbed his 2nd interception of this one. This one, the Red Tornado capitalized on. Ending the half was J.P McCaskey with some trickery toward the back of the endzone with Quinnes Jones-Hawkins delivering the ball in the bread basket of Johnzell Trowery-Sibley to cut the Falcons lead to 21 after a failed 2-pt attempt.

The second half was a similar story. Things started with a McCaskey punt, then followed by a Steven Reyes rushing score for the Falcons, making it 34-6. Eddie Nunez of Cedar Crest had gotten involved shortly after, scoring to make this one an incompetent 41-6 game. Seemingly that nearly everything for the Red Tornado went south, that was the case. Quinnes Jones-Hawkins had mishandled the snap the following possession, leading to a chunk rushing play by Steven Reyes and Eddie Nunez ending the drive with his second touchdown of the night. As this one was winding down, the Red Tornado attempted for one last push at points, which shortly backfired after Liam Stinchfield misfired and was intercepted, this time by Terrance Wilson to close this one out from Earl Boltz Stadium.
