This week was the battle of two red-hot 6A schools. Both teams entered today’s match-up as 3-0 after beating solid teams in the past week.
Central Catholic took this game by storm in the first quarter with 21 unanswered points in three straight drives ending with a touchdown. The first Vikings touchdown was scored by number seven, Peter Gonzalez, with a 33-yard pass. Then on the very next drive, they scored again with a 24-yard pass caught by Number 14, Jacobe Sassic. After another punt by the Blue Devils, the Vikings marched down the field and scored again off of a strong run from number 4 Elijah Faulkner, going up 21-0 at the end of the first.

The Central Catholic offense started a little sloppy in the second quarter with a fumble that was recovered by Joseph Malore. Then on the drive before that, they had a field goal that was blocked. The defense was able to stop the offense on both quick changes, allowing no points again in this quarter. After these two bad drives, the Vikings were able to pick it right back up with two touchdowns in back-to-back drives. First one coming off a 14-yard run by Elijah Faulkner to make the game 28-0. Then on the finale drive, Elijah Faulkner found the end zone yet again with a 15-yard run, this time making it 35-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter, nothing much would change except for the pace of scoring. The Vikings would only find the end zone once. This touchdown was scored by their quarterback, Payton Wehmer, with a 7-yard rushing touchdown, which makes it 41-0. The defense would not let up, and the Blue Devils would not put up a point in the third.
Then in the fourth, we would see the second team play for both teams. There was only one touchdown scored by the Blue Devils again. This touchdown was not your typical one, as every D-lineman dreams of a big-man pick-six. This pick-six was caught by number 68, Johnathan Young. This would put the final dagger in the game, making the final 49-0.
