What to Know About The Game
To put in plainly, this season for the Blue Jays has been the worst that we’ve seen in years, currently sitting at 0-9 under first year head coach Ky Seesholtz. Their offense has managed a whopping 25 points all season, which when averaged over 9 games comes out to only 2.7 points per game. On top of that, their defense has allowed the fourth most points in the entire state at 441, which comes out to 49 points per game. Looking at the other side, the last time Bloomsburg had a record of 7-2 or better at this point of the season was 2012, where they ultimately finished 8-3. This is also the first time since 2012 that the Panthers have more than 6 wins in an entire season. Their 2 losses this year however have been quite unusual ones. After coming off a huge road victory over Warrior Run who currently sits at 8-1, Bloomsburg followed that up with a 9 point home loss to Loyalsock who currently sits at 5-4. Their other loss came this past week and it was one of the most shocking scores I had seen all year, that being a 61-0 blowout loss to 8-1 Southern Columbia. That loss was their worst one to Southern Columbia in 24 years, when they lost 57-0 all the way back in 2001.
Final Thoughts
This game 100 percent feels like a “get right game” for Bloomsburg heading into the playoffs. However as we know, anything can happen, especially in rivalry games like this one. We’ve seen it in this series not too long ago when 2 win Central Columbia blew the brakes off a 5 win Bloomsburg squad 43-7 back in 2022. I can very well see Bloomsburg struggling in this game due to their loss last week, however ultimately I expect Bloomsburg to win this game pretty comfortably.
My Prediction
Central Columbia – 7
Bloomsburg – 42
