What to Know About The Game
In last year’s contest, the game was a lot closer than the score made it seem. Central Columbia was holding their ground and was well within striking distance until Mount Carmel pulled away in the fourth quarter, as it was only 22-10 heading into that final frame. This year Central Columbia has home field advantage and Mount Carmel is coming off of an embarrassing home loss to North Schuylkill where they gave up a whopping 62 points. The offense also seemed dormant for most of the contest as well. Central Columbia is also coming off a rather surprising home loss last week to Midd-West where they lost 27-7. It’ll be interesting to see how Mount Carmel’s offense performs against a much weaker team in Central Columbia. It will also be interesting to see if Mount Carmel’s defense can recover from the performance they put up last week.
Final Thoughts
Even though Mount Carmel is coming off such an embarrassing loss, they are still very obviously the better team in this matchup. We can also consider the fact that Mount Carmel has never lost to Central Columbia except for a forfeited game back in 2020. I think the Red Tornadoes come out on top in this game, although I do expect both offenses to perform much better than they did last week now that they’ve had some time to settle in.
My Prediction
Mount Carmel – 35
Central Columbia – 14
