Central Columbia defensive end Christian Nowak has committed to Bloomsburg University. Nowak will be joining another Central Columbia alum, defensive lineman Kole Hummer, who committed to Bloomsburg University in 2025. Nowak had received offers from four other schools including Seton Hill, Capital University, Culver-Stockton College, and Grove City College, before ultimately selecting the Bloomsburg University Huskies.

Nowak, listed at 6 foot 5 and 270 pounds, has been one of Central Columbia’s standouts on the defensive side of the ball each of the past two seasons. This past season, Nowak racked up 47 total tackles, including 23 solo tackles, along with 19 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. In his junior season, Nowak racked up 30 total tackles, including 10 solo tackles, along with 13 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Nowak has been described by having a “length and strength combination that make him a natural fit for defensive fronts that value interior penetration and edge versatility.” Nowak’s strength numbers include a 285 pound bench press, a 550 pound squat, and a 550 pound deadlift.

Here was a statement from Central Columbia head coach Ky Seesholtz:

“I’m very excited to watch Christian continue his college career at Bloomsburg University. Christian is a tremendous talent and was respected by the staff and his teammates. I know Coach Sheptock and the staff will make him not only a better player but person as well. Couldn’t be more proud of Christian.”
