
Crestwood wins third straight game with homecoming win over Nanticoke

With Crestwood’s homecoming, head coach Ryan Arcangeli wanted to make sure this was a memorable game for his players. The Comets scored 44 points in the first quarter en route to a 58-14 victory over Nanticoke to win their third straight game. “We talk about those special games you’ll always remember so for a lot of guys, it was a memorable homecoming and I’m really proud of their effort.” Said Arcangeli.
Nanticoke started with the ball but the Crestwood defense forced a three and out. On the first play of the Comets drive, backup quarterback Teddy Taylor threw to Jack Rodgers from 40 yards out to make it 7-0 Comets. Nate Walsh recovered a fumble on the next Trojans drive. Jacob Jeckell then ran in from 12 yards out to make it 14-0 with 10:17 left in the first quarter.
The Crestwood defense got another three and out then got a blocked punt that was returned by Shedlock 25 yards for a 21-0 Comets lead with 8:16 left in the first. Crestwood continued to score in the first quarter. Nate Walsh scored from 22 yards out to make it 28-0 then Shedlock found Rodgers from 33 yards out for a 35-0 lead followed by a safety for 37-0. The scoring in the first quarter ended with Jeckell scoring from two yards out to make it 44-0. Shedlock went to Gio Barna for a 51-0 lead with 8:08 remaining in the second quarter. Nanticoke got on the board with a seven yard touchdown run by Jason Fondeur to make it 51-7 and that was the score at halftime.
Ian Walsh went to Justin Johnson for a 20 yard score to make it 51-14 in the third quarter. Taylor found Eli Zeneski from 41 yards out to end the scoring to make it 58-14 and that was your final as Crestwood improved to 3-2 with a 58-14 win over Nanticoke. Crestwood hosts Pittston Area next week. Nanticoke travels to Lake-Lehman.
