Teagen Crouse found the end zone five times to help the Waynesburg Central Raiders earn a week 0 win over the West Greene Pioneers, 50-6, on Friday night. Crouse, the junior quarterback, ran for three touchdowns and threw two.

Waynesburg Central started their first drive at the opposing 17-yard line after a high snap by West Greene on 4th down went over everyone in the backfield’s heads. It took Waynesburg Central four plays to score their first points of the season as head coach Joe Kuhns kept his offense on the field on fourth-and-6 and Crouse escaped the rush for a 13-yard touchdown.

Another West Greene turnover on downs gave Waynesburg Central plus field position again, this time at the opposing 39. On the fourth play of the drive, Crouse added his second rushing touchdown of the game, a 28-yard run to put Waynesburg Central up, 14-0.

Crouse ran it in from nine yards out on the next Waynesburg Central drive, his third rushing touchdown, to make it 21-0.

After senior Zachery Jiblits had a touchdown called back due to a holding call, junior Ross Tennant caught a pass out of the backfield from Crouse and took it three yards for the score, making it 28-0, Waynesburg Central.

Waynesburg Central’s next drive started deep in their own territory with just over one minute left in the first half, but this was no problem for Crouse and junior wideout Jack Ricciuti. The two connected on a 91-yard touchdown as Ricciuti beat his defender on a go route down the left sideline to help put Waynesburg Central in front, 35-0, at halftime.

Tennant scored his second touchdown of the game on the opening drive of the second half, a 6-yard rushing touchdown to make it 42-0.

West Greene found the paydirt late in the third quarter on an 8-yard touchdown run from junior Jacob Orndoff, but the extra point was no good.

Crouse was relieved at quarterback at the start of the fourth quarter by freshman Averi Gallagher, who helped lead a touchdown drive that ended with a 1-yard score by sophomore Jackson Brunell and a 2-point conversion run from junior Ky-mani Sumpter that put Waynesburg Central at the 50 point mark.

The final score was ultimately 50-6, Waynesburg Central, their second straight year with a week 0 win over West Greene. Next Friday, the Raiders are on the road against another Greene County opponent, Jefferson-Morgan.

The West Greene Pioneers will host their first home game of 2025 next Friday, as Monessen travels in.
