With 4 weeks of action behind us let’s do a quick rundown of where things stand in all 3 city leagues. In the Pub it’s Imhotep and then the rest. Tep is currently 1-3 with their lone win coming against Eagle Academy II (NY). Their losses were to Harrisburg, DeMatha & Malvern Prep all top tier programs. Thomas Edison & Belmont Charter are the lone Pub teams left undefeated after 4 weeks. Upstart program Audenried Charter is 2-2 in their first season of varsity play, Northeast is 0-4 and will open league play at Imhotep Saturday in a game they desperately need a win for confidence. Lincon stands to be Tep’s biggest challenge, and they sit at 2-2 with wins over Germantown Academy & Conwell-Egan but have losses to Chester & Springside Academy.
In the Catholic League Red, SJP is 0-3 with a chance to start the season winless in out of league competition. The offense has come to life recently so maybe things are turning for the defending state champions. Bonner, O’Hara and LaSalle are the lone programs in the league that remain undefeated. O’Hara has had a sneaky great start to the season sitting at 4-0 thus far but face their toughest test thus far Friday evening hosting Smyrna (DE).
In the Inter-Ac Malvern Prep is looking to be the favorite once again after their easy win over Imhotep and taking LaSalle down to the final minute in their game. SCH Academy and Haverford School both have looked impressive this young season and will make a push to dethrone the champions.

Best Games of the Week:
Our Lady of Good Counsel @St Joes Prep: OLGC comes to Philly 3-0 coming off a hard fought 31-14 win over Middletown (DE). Fr. RB Paul Auston ran for 75 yards & 2 touchdowns while So. WR Corey Smith caught 4 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. Sr. WR Kobe Ellis hauled in 5 passes for 69 yards. So. Markel Long Jr. returned a fumble 49 yards for a score in the win. While defensively they rang up 4 sacks with Sr. Bryton Brown registering 2 sacks in the victory. For SJP they are 0-3 for the first time in over a decade. They fell narrowly to nationally ranked #4 St. Frances Academy (Maryland) 34-26. Sophomore sensation WR Jett Harrison had a career day hauling in 7 passes for 169 yards & 4 touchdown passes in the loss from Jr. QB Charlie Foulke who finished with 282 yards. This game will serve as the final tune-up for SJ Prep before they begin CL Red Division play.
Thomas Edison @ Vaux Big Picture: Thomas Edison enters the game 4-0 for the first time in program history. Fresh off its big win over New Hope-Solebury in which Sr. QB Cashmere Thomas threw for 188 yards & 4 touchdowns while Sr. RB Ahmir Ponder rushed for 158 yards & 3 touchdowns. Sr. WR Fortel Barker caught 2 touchdown passes while Sr. WR Leon Washington (34 yards & 2 touchdowns) & So. WR Dre Smith (83 yards & 1 touchdown) were the leading receivers. The defense was just as stellar racking up 7 sacks, 1 interception and 5 recovered fumbles. Vaux is sitting at 2-2 coming off a big win in overtime over Fels. At 1-1 Vaux is looking to gain traction towards a chance at a division championship and need this victory to keep pace with the other teams.
Belmont Charter @ Martin Luther King: Belmont enters this game undefeated and looking to separate themselves within the division. Last week they ran past Frankford 26-0 on the road before a stingy defense that forced 3 turnovers while the offense controlled the time of possession. King served a disciplinary bye week and should be rested and ready for what should be an entertaining and competitive game.
Neumann Goretti @ Lansdale: NG enters 0-1 in CL Blue Divisional play and without starting QB Shane Smalley the offense has relied on So. QB Jack Garrett to lead the Saints. Last week in a 34-6 loss to Ryan Jack threw for 147 yards and a touchdown. Lansdale is coming off a 28-7 CL Blue win over Carroll. Sr. QB Yeboa Cobbold led the team in rushing (73 yards) and passing (58 yards) while adding a touchdown and 2-point conversion in the victory. Defensively DB James Webb leads the Crusaders as he picked off two passes last week. With NG being a young and injured team look for Lansdale to pull away with the victory.
Bonner-Prendie @ Haverford School: The defending PIAA 4A champions are undefeated and face their toughest non-league opponent of the year when they travel across Delaware county to take on Haverford School who are looking to recapture the Inter-Ac title this year. Bonner Jr. QB Noel Campbell Jr. leads the offense (196 yards & 4 TDs) while Sr. RB Saalem Frink (266 yards & 9 touchdowns) leads the team in rushing yards & total scores. Defensively Bonner is stout against the pass racking up 6 interceptions thus far this season. Haverford is led by Sr. QB Zach Faragalli & Sr. RB Stephen Cobb. The Hogs upfront for the Fords who are key to their success are Jr. OL/DL Preston Bernard & Sr. OL/DL Walter Frazier.
