DISTRICT XI 6A SEMI-FINALS

BETHLEHEM FREEDOM (9-2) at NORTHAMPTON (11-0)

The real question here is can the Konkrete Kids play on the highest level of 6A? They come into the game undefeated and do own 2 wins over EPC South teams with a combined record of 6-14. This is the first Northampton football team to go 11-0 and ran get the biggest win for the program in history on Friday night at Al Erdosy Stadium on Louis Wolf Field.
Led by quarterback Cooper King and running back Caden Henritzy, these Kids are ready. A 21-7 win over Pleasant Valley last week has given them their chance.

Bethlehem Freedom routed Easton 44-14 on Friday and is one of the hottest teams in the area. Led by quarterback Brian Taylor, who started the season a little rough with 5 interceptions. But, since then has settled down and made good decisions behind center. Running back Deandre Crawford is the EPC leading rusher with over 1300 yards.

Freedom has way too many good players, but a warning for all:  Northampton plays very fast on defense and runs to the ball very well.

EMMAUS (8-3) at PARKLAND (9-1)

Emmaus came storming back with great defense in Nazareth and beat the Blue Eagles 20-19. Parkland hammered Pocono Mountain West 42-13. Emmaus wanted a rematch and has it.

Parkland has had quarterback injuries, but it looks like Luke Spang will start for them. Led by running back Dahli Adams. 22 carries 1070 yards and 13 touchdowns.  He carries the ball at 4.7 yards a carry and could not be stopped 2 weeks ago vs Emmaus. in a 25-14 in the mud at Parkland.

An Emmaus defense that only gives up 9.5 points per game led by one of the best linebacking corps in the state. Can they stop Dahlir Adams?

PARKLAND 24, EMMAUS 14

DISTRICT XI 5A

EAST STROUDSBURG SOUTH (8-3) vs WHITEHALL (4-6)

East Stroudsburg South took care of business by beating District 2 Wyoming Valley West 52-26 while Whitehall bounces Southern Lehigh 43-14 in routs.

East Stroudsburg South, who takes all the risks by going for it most of the time on 4th down and onside kicks at random times, will pull out all stops by also going for 2 point conversions.

Whitehall is hampered by too many injuries, none more important than that of their good quarterback, Quinn Wentling. East Stroudsburg South, quarterback Bobby McClosky has way too much for Whitehall in this one.

EAST STROUDSBURG SOUTH 35, WHITEHALL 21

DISTRICT XI 4A

ALLENTOWN CENTRAL CATHOLIC (8-3) vs NORTHWESTERN LEHIGH (11-0)

Northwestern Lehigh is undefeated and 11-0, but it has been all but easy in some contests this year. They can cough up the ball at times. But last week they routed Wilson Area 50-15. Quarterback Justin Holmes is a very tough player to tackle.

Allentown Central Catholic had a rougher time with a pesky Pottsville team in a 35-21 win which was very close for most of the game. RB, Caiden Shaffer had the carries and did very well vs Pottsville. Will RB, Travis Foster be back?

Whoever wins the turnover battle, may win this game.

NORTHWESTERN LEHIGH 35, ALLENTOWN CENTRAL CATHOLIC 34

DISTRICT XI 3A

JIM THORPE (9-4) vs NORTH SCHUYLKILL (9-1)

North Schuylkill was the benefactor of a forfeit by Tamaqua while Jim Thorpe won a hard-fought upset in a 26-18 over Notre Dame Green Pond.

North Schuylkill which held the #1 spot in 4A statewide until its loss to Pottsville, is a very tough opponent. They beat Jim Thorpe in week 3, 28-7.  Can this time be different?  North Schuylkill has way too many weapons here with a quarterback, Jake Hall, running back, Josh Chowansky, and wide-out Joey Flail.

Too many weapons on North Schuylkill.

NORTH SCHUYLKILL 42, JIM THORPE 21

DISTRICT XI 2A

PALMERTON (9-2) vs NORTHERN LEHIGH (8-3)

Palmerton hammered Catasauqua 47-7 while Northern Lehigh won 43-14 over Minersville. This is a rematch of a game won by Northern Lehigh 43-14 just 2 weeks ago. Northern Lehigh had 3 tough losses in the season to 3 very good football teams: Northwestern Lehigh, North Schuylkill, and Notre Dame GP. These teams have a combined 3 losses all season.  The balanced attack of the Bulldogs may be way too much for a Palmerton team that is young and tough. Running back Matt Frame can’t be stopped. He has 103 carries for 745 yards and 11 touchdowns for a 7.2 yard per carry.

Palmerton has a very good quarterback in Matt Michalik, who has run for 1393 yards and thrown for 1230 yards, and accounted for 34 touchdowns as a Sophomore.

NORTHERN LEHIGH 52, PALMERTON 28

DISTRICT XI 1A

WILLIAMS VALLEY (8-2) vs TRI-VALLEY (9-1)

Two weeks ago Tri-Valley beat Williams Valley 14-0. This week it could go either way in this tough game between two rivalries.

Tri-Valley is led by running back Kam Wetzel, 87 carries for 866 yards, and 13 touchdowns for 10.0 yards/carry for the Junior

He controls this game and it’s a win for the Bulldogs.

TRI-VALLEY 21, WILLIAMS VALLEY 14
