DXI Week 10 Playoff Scenarios

Football’s regular season ends in just a week. With that in mind, there is a lot left up in the air across the classifications, from teams needing wins to make the playoffs, to massive potential changes in seeding. Let’s take a look at some scenarios for week 10.

What this is: Using DXI’s power ranking formula, this is a list of scenarios using potential game 10 results to map out where teams would end up after next weekend ends.

What this isn’t: While this isn’t pure speculation or guesswork, it is also not comprehensive. Not only do week 10 games between your team and their opponent matter, but what every other team on your team’s schedule does in week 10. Those adjustments are minimal, but could be very impactful. We won’t be adjusting for them here, but will note where they will be important.

Class A

• Lackawanna Trail has clinched the top seed
• Tri-Valley and Nativity are in with a win
• If TV and Nativity lose and Old Forge wins: TV is #2, Marian is #3, Nativity is likely #4, OF is likely out(add adjustment for other teams on their schedules and the margin will be razor thin for #4 and #5)
• If Haven, Nativity, OF win: Nativity is #2, TV is #3, OF is #4, Marian is out
• If OF and Marian lose: Marian is favored to be the #4, pending adjustment for other teams on their schedules
• Holy Cross is eliminated

Class AA

• If SH wins, they are #1, regardless of other outcomes
• NL would be #1 seed if WV and SH lose, NL is guaranteed at least a #3 seed regardless of outcomes
• If Minersville loses and EE wins, EE is #4, Minersville is #5
• If Minersville wins, they clinch #4
• If EE loses and Pen Argyl wins, it’d come down to results of other teams on their schedules for #5 or #6. EE favored for the #5
• Pen Argyl is guaranteed at least the #6
• If Mahanoy and Catty win, Catty is #7, Mahanoy #8, Palisades is out
• If Mahanoy wins, Catty loses, Palisades wins: Mahanoy is #7, Palisades is #8, Catty is out
• If Mahanoy loses, Catty wins, Palisades wins: Catty #7, Palisades #8, Mahanoy is out
• Palisades is out with a loss, regardless of other outcomes

Class AAA

• NWL has clinched the #1 seed
• If NDGP wins, they clinch the #2
• If NDGP loses and NS wins, NS moves to the #2, NDGP to the #3
• If Saucon, Tamaqua, and NS win, it’ll come down to other teams’ results on Saucon and Tamaqua’s schedule, slight edge to Saucon at #4 and Tamaqua out
• If Saucon and Tamaqua win, and NS loses, Saucon and Tamaqua are in, NS is out
• If Saucon, Tamaqua, NS all lose, NS is #3, Tamaqua is #4, Saucon is out(edge Tamaqua in other opponents pending results)
• If Tamaqua and Saucon lose and NS and NDGP win, Tamaqua has slight edge for #4 pending other teams’ results on their schedules
• If Tamaqua or Saucon win and the other loses + NS loses, TAM or SAUC is #3, NS is #4
• If Tamaqua or Saucon win and the other loses + NS win, TAM or SAUC is #4

Class AAAA

• Southern Lehigh has clinched #1
• Winner of LEH/JT is #7, loser is #8
• If ESN wins and Pottsville loses, ESN is #5, Pottsville #6
• If Pottsville wins, ACC loses + BM and BC win, Pottsville is #4, ACC is #5
• If Pottsville wins, ACC loses, BC loses, BM loses: Pottsville is #2, Beca/BM come down to OWP for #3 and #4, ACC is #5
• If BC wins, they clinch #2
• BM clinches #2 if they win + BC loss
• If BM, BC, Pottsville and ACC win, BC is #2, BM is #3, ACC is #4, Pottsville is #5

Class AAAAA

• PV can move to #3 if they win and PME loses. Otherwise, seedings are set. PV @ ESS and PME @ Whitehall

Class AAAAAA

• Easton clinches #1 with a win
• Freedom clinches #2 with a win and #1 if Easton loses
• Parkland win + LIB and NAZ win: Easton heavily favored remain #1, NAZ/PARK virtual tie for #2/#3, Freedom #4, Liberty #5, Emmaus #6 (NAZ/PARK/FREE will come down to other teams’ results on their schedule; these projections are within .002-.008)
• Emmaus can rise as high as #3 or #4 if they win + FREE, EAS wins. PARK/EMM/NAZ would be in virtual tie, pending other results on their schedules with Parkland #3, Emmaus #4, Naz #5 most likely; Liberty #6
• If Emmaus, LIB, NAZ win, 6 teams finish at 8-2. EAS #1, FREE/NAZ/LIB virtual tie for #2/#3/#4 pending other teams results; PARK #5, EMM #6
• If Northampton and Stroudsburg win, edge to Northampton for #7, Stroudsburg #8 pending results of other teams on their schedule.
• If Northampton wins and Stroudsburg loses, or vice versa, winner is #7, loser is #8
• Dieruff is eliminated
