Easton Running backs combined for 5 Touchdowns to win big over Northampton 42-14

Easton invited Northampton to Cottingham Stadium nestled in the heart of the City of Easton Friday night for the first of 4 big games this month. Easton got things started right away by taking the opening possession and scoring on a 2-yard run by Will Day.  Northampton couldn’t do anything on their first possession and gave the ball back to Easton. Easton finished that drive with a 6-yard Run by Dorian Thomas to put the Rovers up 14-0 with 2:41 left in the first quarter. They weren’t done there, Will Day took another 2 yard run in for a touchdown. Easton ended the 1st quarter up 21- 0.

In the 2nd quarter Easton and Northampton traded 4th downs turnovers. Easton found the endzone again with another Dorian Thomas 6-yard run. Northampton and Easton closed the first half 0-28.

Northampton must have had a good conversation at the half. The 3rd quarter started quickly. with Northampton getting the ball and taking a 72-yard pass from Gavin Taff to Joey High in for their 1st Touchdown of the night, 28 – 7. Easton got the ball and turned it over with a fumble by Dorian Thomas that was caused by an Aiden Hess hit.

Northampton’s made good worth of the turnover by Gavin Taff connecting with Sincere Wadlington for a 28-yard Touchdown.  Easton’s Will Day caps off the next drive with an 18-yard touchdown run that completed the hat trick for him. Easton followed that up with an interception on Northampton’s next drive, that Andrew Biddle took 50-yards to the house. That was all the scoring in the game as both teams failed to reach the endzone in the 4th quarter.  Easton’s 2-headed running backs combined for 5 touchdowns on the night (Will Day -3, Dorian Thomas – 2)

Easton (6-1) now continues its quest at BASD Stadium next week as they take on a Liberty Hurricanes (6-1) who were beaten by Nazareth this week 34-14. Northampton (4-3) will try to bounce back against a tough undefeated Freedom Patriot (7-0) team.
