Junior running back Ryan Pearson led his Elizabethtown Bears to a 35-0 shut out, scoring 18 of those points himself. This also marked the second straight week the J.P McCaskey Tornadoes have given up 3 touchdowns to one player after Sawyer Esbenshade of the Conestoga Valley Buckskins did it first in last week’s McCaskey loss.
From the first drive of this one, the Elizabethtown Bears seemed to harness control with ease. Marching all the way down inside the five, while J.P managed to hold the door forcing a turnover on downs on 4th & goal.
McCaskey’s forced turnover was to no avail as they could not cash in any type of points, leading to an efficient E-Town Bears scoring drive, courtesy of Ryan Pearson the next possession.

Elizabethtown’s rushing attack was the story of the first half. Ryan Pearson had himself with 3 touchdowns of his own but his sidekick, Prince Wratto was involved in an efficient workload.
After another punt from the Red Tornado, the formula was simple for the Bears. Feeding the hot hand in Ryan Pearson lifted their lead up to double digits in the first half.

At the end of the first half with under 3 minutes to go, Elizabethtown Bears would be threatening for the pylon yet again to extend their lead to 21-0. And just a few plays later, they certainly did, this time in the air with a strike to Matthew Beck from Trent Kauffman in between McCaskey defenders.

Straight out of the break, J.P punted almost immediately and it was blocked, leading to another Ryan Pearson rushing score, his third of the night, completing the hat trick.

Following this 28-0 deficit the Red Tornadoes faced, they managed to drive down the field and get inside the five of the Elizabethtown Bears, led by backup QB Qua’mae Peckway after replacing his injured starter, Liam Stinchfield. Even this drive could not generate points after McCaskey was held to a 4th and goal as they could not convert after a Qua’mae Peckway interception.

Right after this play, the Bears continued to drive and keep the J.P defense guessing with their balanced offense. Until they broke one open with a wide open deep shot to Gannon from Trent Kauffman. That’s two passing touchdowns and 3 rushing for the Bears. An offensive barrage.

As this one winded down towards the final minutes, it looked like the Tornadoes had a shot at some last minute points, but another Qua’mae Peckway interception took the life out of this team.

They received the ball one more time following that interception, after a 63 yard punt from Elizabethtown. The two minute offense from McCaskey could not create points as they fell to a District 3 foe.
McCaskey is on the road next week against a 1-2 Hempfield team. McCaskey, a struggling team that is visibly frustrated and anxious to get in the win column. They will be kicking off at 7:00PM on September 12th.
As for Elizabethtown, getting back in the win column in dominant fashion is always sweet as they head to South Philadelphia for a clash with the 0-2 South Philadelphia High Rams.
