Battle of the Unbeatens: Indians and Raiders

One the hottest tickets in Pa high school football this Friday night is in Myerstown at Elco High School Stadium, with the District 3 4A Tittle on the line, the 12-0 Susquehanna Twp Indians will be hosting the 12-0 Twin Valley Raiders. With a championship and advancing to the next round of the state playoffs at stake, both teams are going to want to get on the board early and often. Both teams can do that, the Indians are avg 41.8pts per-game and the Raiders avg 52.8pts per-game. These teams are not all flash and go, their defenses get the job done as well, with Susquehanna Twp holding opposing teams to a stingy 13.25pts per-game and Twin Valley has held opponents to a measly 8.58pts per-game.

The Raiders cruised past 8-3 West Perry 55-15 and made easy work of 10-2 West York 45-14 after breezing through their regular season and are 12-0 for the first time in school history on the way to the championship game. The Indians also had little difficulty with their regular season finishing 10-0 and had a 50-13 win over 6-6 Eastern Lebanon County. But in the last game against 4th seeded 10-2 Wyomissing, Susquehanna Twp needed a pass from Torin Evans to Josh Nengite on the last play of the game to advance to this game.

Evans has 2684yds passing with 36 TDS and only 5 INTs on the season, plus he is the teams leading rusher with 885yds and 12 TDS. Most of Torin Evans targets go to Jarrett Kern 46 catches 724yds 9 TDS and Zi’khere Leaks 39 catches 629yds and 1o TDS, Rakhi Seville contributed 741yds on the ground and a big 15 TDS. Josh Nengite who caught the game winning touchdown is the Indians leading tackler with 81, Susquehanna Twp’s Yendor Mack, Jayden Riley, Steph Malette and Jasani Brown have also been key contributors on defense this season.

Twin Valley offense is led by Drew Engle, who broke career rushing 3960 and career TDS 57 records this season, while racking up 1573yds, 10.4yd avg and 28 TDS behind a front line averaging 279 pounds, they also got 1020yds 20 TDS and a whopping 11.2yds avg per carry from Lucas Meyers. And Raiders can get it done in the air as well sophomore QB Maverick Foster has thrown for 1145yds and 15TDS in his first season at the helm. Greyson Miller Ryan Rementer and Noah DiGiacomo are the anchors of a defense that has not been tested this year.

Both Coach Brett Myers and Coach Joe Headen will have their teams tuned and ready to fire on Friday night. One thing for sure, I expect a lot of points to be scored, who scores them? Find out and get my live scores and highlights @DanDiEdwardo1 and at @PaFootbalNews
