The Hawkeyes were looking to get their first winning season in 11 seasons with a win against rival Nanticoke. Hawkeyes head coach Eric Richardson talked about securing the team’s first winning season since 2014. “When I got hired, I started bringing back the culture and tried to get rid of the losing habits and develop the winning habits and seeing it transpire on the field and seeing these kids win. It’s fantastic and I’m happy for them.” Said Hanover Area head coach Eric Richardson.
The Hawkeyes started with the ball as freshman Dawin Downey returned the opening kickoff 79 yards to make it 7-0 Hanover Area.
