Harrisburg vs Central York: PIAA Class 6A Final Preview and Prediction

Tagged under: District 3, Gameday Hub, News, pfn, Playoffs

| November 20, 2025

Both these teams on a yearly basis have adapted to competing at games of this magnitude. Though it’s no State Title, what more could you ask for? This one will be hosted at Cedar Cliff’s High School Stadium but regardless of where, you have to expect both these star-studded rosters to lay it all on the line this Friday evening.

For the Harrisburg Cougars, they knocked off a 5-7 Central Dauphin squad in the first round  with ease by a score of 21-9, and outcoached a talented Manheim Township team last weekend in the semi-final by a score of 34-6. Certainly not an easy road to the title game but, led by their Two-Headed Monster in Junior P.J Dent and Senior Standout Messiah Mickens on the offensive ground and Elias Coke, their dangerous receiver summarizing their explosive and heavily recruited offense. This team has a variety of ways to attack and manipulate defenses as any 12-0 team would, their roster consists of much more talent than their stars, but it’ll be interesting to see how the Central York Panthers adjust on all three phases.

On the flip side, the Central York Panthers knocked off a 6-6 Cedar Cliff team, 42-7 in blowout fashion, who happens to host this title game, as mentioned before. Then, following this one was another talented team, who tends to make noise yearly but, this year it seemed like consecutive instant replays for the Panthers as they knocked off the 9-3 Wilson Bulldogs by a score of 42-7 as well in the Semi-Final. The Panthers are led by Senior ‘Slinger  Brooklyn Nace and Senior Wideout Bredyn Smith. A significantly more air-raid prioritized offense for the Panthers. It will certainly be interesting to see the contrast in offensive styles and how each defense adjusts in live time and in timely manners with a game of this magnitude breathing down their neck.

MY PREDICTION:

Watching these teams all year long and picking up on tendencies from each team leads to my prediction of:

Harrisburg – 31

Central York – 28
