What are the chances on back-to-back nights I’d see single-game school rushing records broken? Pretty good this weekend starting with my Thursday game at North Schuylkill featuring their dynamic running back Luke Miller.
Miller has been a force all season for the Spartans and this week was no different as North Schuylkill thumped visiting Blue Mountain 42-21 before a hearty crowd on hand for Senior Night. Miller dashed his way to 379 yards on the ground while crossing the goal line four times in the home team victory.
Here’s some Luke Miller highlights from the Spartans win vs. Blue Mountain…

On Friday, the second half of a record-setting weekend sent me to Berwick’s iconic Crispin Field where the legendary Bulldogs are off to a 7-0 start. The buzz is back in Berwick thanks to a rejuvenation of the football program and I witnessed some of the same confidence and swag on the faces of players, coaches and fans that could be seen during the programs heydays in the 1980s and 1990s.
Berwick fans packed the stands on this night to cheer the Dawgs to a convincing 63-19 victory against visiting Williamsport. Most impressive, however, was the standout performance of running back Ty’Meere Wilkerson as the senior galloped to a school record 393 yards and six touchdowns in the victory.
Here’s Ty Wilkerson zigging and zagging his way to breaking his own school records for rushing yards in a single game…
