Week Ten Capsules and Predictions

1-8 EAST STROUDSBURG NORTH TIMBERWOLVES at 4-5 EAST STROUDSBURG SOUTH CAVALIERS FRIDAY 7PM

Even though the Timberwolves have only one win, there has been some improvements such as with the defense who surrendered 317 points this year compared to 537 last year. On offense Nathanael Clay is averaging 4.5 yards per carry coming into this game. South’s Nathan Gray rushed for over 300 yards against Dieruff last week and found the end zone four times. The Cavs are on a three game winning streak and could still make the playoffs depending on the Stroudsburg game. HOLLYWOOD’S PICK EAST STROUDSBURG SOUTH BY 14

2-7 POCONO MOUNTAIN EAST CARDINALS at 5-4 POCONO MOUNTAIN WEST PANTHERS FRIDAY 7PM

The Cardinals gave up 270 yards on defense to Pleasant Valley last week. Much like East Stroudsburg North, the Cardinals have given up less points to be scored upon compared to last year 350 to 279, but the offense continues to struggle only scoring 74 points in nine games. Pocono Mountain West is looking to wrap up a playoff spot if the can win this game. Quarterback Ryder Bray threw for over 220 yards last week against Central Catholic on 25 of 40 passing. HOLLYWOOD’S THOUGHTS- PMW wins this game by 17.

5-4 STROUDSBURG MOUNTAINEERS at 5-4 PLEASANT VALLEY BEARS FRIDAY 7PM

This game should be a dandy as both these teams need to win if they have a shot to make the playoffs Alex Ecker rushed for two scores for PV last week over PME, The Bears won this game last year by one. HOLLYWOOD’S PICK STROUDSBURG by 2

Whitehall earned a tough overtime win against Liberty last week to sew up a 5A playoff spot. Jack Kocher hauled in six passes for over 100 yards and two touchdowns. The K-Kids have only allowed 32 points scored against them. Northampton have won 34 straight games against North competition but need that signature win against a South team in this Cement Belt Trophy Game. HOLLYWOOD SAYS KONKRETE KIDS BY 7

5-4 EMMAUS GREEN HORNETS at 9-0 PARKLAND TROJANS FRIDAY 7PM at OREFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL STADIUM
