
Hurricanes Pound Panthers in Shut Out Victory

The Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes totaled eight touchdowns in a huge 57-0 win over the Panther Valley Panthers. Niko Carestia had three touchdowns, and Niko Castillo and Colton Reber had two touchdowns a piece.
The Hurricanes did most of their scoring in the first quarter, tallying 38 points. Carestia scored from 30 yards out, followed by Reber from 28 yards on their next possession. Castillo added on a pick 6, and Carestia closed out the quarter with two touchdowns. The Hurricanes were 4/5 on two-point conversion attempts. Defensively, Carestia and Chase Williams each had a sack.
The Hurricanes continued scoring with a 74-yard run from Reber, Hunter Correll completing the extra point. The Panthers did force a fumble and recovered but could do nothing with the possession. Castillo scored his second touchdown from 21 yards out. The score at halftime was 51-0.
Throughout the second half, the Panthers had a few drives that gained some ground, but the Hurricanes were unstoppable, even through their second string. Carter Williams hauled in a wild pass for an interception, leading to Logan Goad running 95 yards for the final touchdown of the game. The Hurricanes won 57-0, giving them a 1-1 record, and the Panthers dropping to 0-2.
Mike Farr and his Hurricanes will face Shenandoah Valley at Rotary Field on Friday, while Mark Lavine and his Panthers will travel to Marian to face the Colts on Thursday.
