Defense continues to be an anchor for the Imhotep Panthers. The Panthers defense through two games has allowed zero points while scoring 123 of its own.
Last week the Panthers put on a show scoring 88 against Life Christian Academy. Friday night, the Panthers took on the Haverford School in Wilmington, Delaware. The Panthers began their scoring with a 38 yard touchdown from Anthony Rosser with just over 30 seconds to go in the first quarter.
The Panthers would get on the board again after Syeer Coleman found his way into the endzone from six yards out. The score gave the Panthers a 14-0 lead with over 9 minutes left to go in the first half.
Defense came up again, and Jah’Sear Whiittington took an interception 40 yards to the house but was called back due to a personal foul. No worries for the Panthers as they would get the touchdown back. After a bad snap Jabree Wallace-Coleman punched it in from 11 yards out right before the half to give the Panthers a commanding 21-0 lead.
Too nice not to tweet. Jah’Sear Whittington with a tremendous 40 yard pick six called back due to a personal foul before the pick. Imhotep Charter still leads Haverford School, 14-0 midway through the second quarter. @PaFootballNews #BeyondTheKeystone @TepFootball pic.twitter.com/5otK19iWe3

Again, to start the second half, the Panthers defense came up big. Willie Norris stepped in front of the quarterback for an interception and was brought down just short of the endzone at the one yard line. Wallace-Coleman would put a touchdown on the scoreboard the very next play to extend the lead to 28-0.
To cap of the night for the Panthers, Penn State commit Tyseer Denmark hauled in an 11 yard touchdown with a little over five minutes to go in the game, sealing the 35-0 victory.
The Panthers move to 2-0 on the year and will take on Archbishop Spalding on Saturday, September 2, at 2 p.m. For the Haverford School, they move to 0-1 on the year and look to bounce back next week against Academy Park on Saturday, September 2, at 1 p.m.
