Russell Holmes Jr. Commits to Robert Morris
Russell Holmes Jr. a standout outside linebacker for the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders has committed to Robert Morris University. In his junior season Holmes led the Philadelphia Catholic League’s blue division in tackles for loss and was a key piece on the Crusaders defense. He ended the year with 54 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. This was good enough for him to make the All Catholic 1st team in the blue division. With Lansdale Catholic in 2024 Holmes and his team went 8-4 overall and 4-2 in league play. Holmes is a very quick speed rusher with a relentless motor and is always chasing down the quarterback.
Holmes had lots of interest from many different schools. He attended various camps including Robert Morris, Stoney Brook, Kutztown, Monmouth, Wheeling, Duquesne, and Temple. Russell Holmes Jr. also had interest from both Syracuse and Temple. Robert Morris offered on July 18th and 3 short days later Holmes Jr. announced his commitment to play for the Colonials. In his final season with the Crusaders he will look to improve on last year and win the blue division of the Philadelphia Catholic League.
