Lehigh and Lafayette faced off for the 161st time in the two’s history, and Lehigh comes out on top in the matchup, winning 42-32 in a tight game that came down to the final minutes. The two would trade 2 touchdowns in the first half, but Lafayette would get a field goal minutes before the end of the half putting them up 17-14. Lehigh would get a chance to tie or regain that lead with one final drive before the 2nd quarter ends, but that would soon be over as a deep pass all the way down to the goal line would be intercepted by Junior Avery Jones of the Leopards, and Lafayette would retain the lead going into halftime
Second half starts and the Mountain Hawks get the ball, first play of the drive Luke Yoder would take it 80 yards to the house and make it 21-17 after the extra point. Luke Yoder would go onto have 200+ yards and 4 touchdowns on the day as well in the back and forth game. With 10 minutes left Yoder would score to put the team up 35-24, and Lafayette would drive down the field to make it and 35-32 game with a 2 pt. conversion added on, and the game was coming down to the wire, but a rush on the goal line by Hayden Johnson would seal the deal for a Mountain Hawks victory with just under 2 minutes left in regulation.
Lehigh would go on to winning back to back Patriot League titles with this huge win over Lafayette to stay unbeaten on the season and secure an automatic bid in the Division 1 FCS tournament coming up.
