McGuffey Travels to South Park and Defeats them 31 to 14

The McGuffey Highlanders beat the South Park Eagles by a score of 31-14 this Friday night.

After a scoreless first quarter from South Park Eagles Stadium, the McGuffey Highlanders made two field goals to make it 6-0 going into halftime.

McGuffey received the kick out of the half and drove down the field in 5 minutes. That drive was capped off by a Charles Wagers six-yard rushing touchdown to make the lead 13-0 Highlanders with 7:37 left in the third.

A fumbled kick return by the Eagles led to a McGuffey recovery and put them in the red zone early on in the drive. The Highlanders capitalized on that with a seven-yard rushing touchdown from FB Dylan Droboj, and the two-pointer would later be successful in making the score 21-0 Highlanders.

South Park answered back with a touchdown of their own, a three-yard rushing touchdown from RB Eric Doerue for the Eagles’ first score of the game.

McGuffey wouldn’t let that touchdown from the Eagles stop their offense as they drove down the field and scored with a QB Connor Crowe rushing touchdown from 12 yards out.

An interception from the Highlanders leads to a field goal for McGuffey to grow the lead to 31-7 over South Park. 

In the last minutes of the game, South Park put a drive together against this high-powered defense from McGuffey. They later scored to make it a 31-14 final score in favor of the McGuffey Highlanders.
