SOUTH CENTRE TOWNSHIP – Once Landen Murray took the opening kickoff all the way to the end zone, it was very clear that Mifflinburg was going to control the entirety of this game. Coming off such a heartbreaking 21-14 home loss last week against Southern Columbia, Mifflinburg took full advantage of the winless Central Columbia Blue Jays en route to a dominant 65-3 victory.

The first quarter featured a kickoff return touchdown from Landen Murray, a touchdown run from Landon Moser, and a Chad Martin touchdown pass to Brady Threet. The Wildcats also got a safety thanks to a punt that went over Central Columbia’s punter Gus Bauman’s head, forcing him to kick it out of the back of the end zone.

By the time the halfway point of the second quarter came around, Mifflinburg’s lead was already 51-0. Quarterback Chad Martin finished the game with four total touchdowns in just one and a half quarters of play, including three through the air and one on the ground. Landen Murray had three touchdowns on the night and Landon Moser had two, as well as some scores from backup tight end Luke Brubaker and backup running back Hunter Bolick.

“After last week and some tough weeks in the middle of the season there, it’s good to respond and get to a point where we just got to take care of business, and finish the regular season strong and get ready for the playoffs,” head coach Cody Botts said after the game.

Following the victory, #9 Mifflinburg improves to 6-2 on the season, they’ll be back at home next week against Midd-West. Central Columbia drops to 0-8 on the year following the loss, still remaining winless on the season. They’ll be back on the road next week to face Warrior Run.
