Montour Spartans hosted Knoch Knights in a 44-14 victory to advance to 3-0 on the season.

In the Spartan victory, led by Trey Hopper with 436 passing yards and 3 total touchdowns, which is 21st most passing yards in a single game all time within the WPIAL. Helped by Andrew “AJ” Alston and Daniel Batch who had 3 touchdowns combined, the offense played their best football yet.

Knoch kept up with Montour in the first quarter, at once leading 7-6. Soon to fall apart after scoring only one other touchdown, the Knight offense was limited to only 2 drives within the red zone after halftime.

Montour’s offense had 4 plays that had 60+ yards throughout the game that either were touchdowns or led to touchdown plays. Much of their offense under the leadership of longtime Head Coach Lou Cerro, showed they are one of the strongest teams in the WPIAL this season.

One defensive star play was an interception late in the third quarter for the Montour Spartans from Marcus Battles that set them up offensively for anothe touchdown to bring the score to 44-14 to end the third quarter.

JV starters came in for the Spartans and no points were scored in the final quarter

Below is post game interview with Trey Hopper and Andrew “AJ” Alston after their offensive studded game.
