What to Know About The Game
Last season was a very different story for this matchup, obviously the Red Tornadoes were still 1-1 heading into the game but they had to go on the road last year. This year they’ll have home field advantage, however, Mifflinburg unlike last year is 2-0 heading into the matchup, instead of being 0-2 like they were last season. The Wildcats seem much stronger this season with senior quarterback Chad Martin continuing to lead the way for the third year in a row. On the other side, Mount Carmel also has their senior quarterback Gavin Marshalek under center for the second year in a row, although this season the Red Tornadoes have leaned a lot more on the rushing attack rather than the passing attack. Mount Carmel has averaged just over 250 yards per game on the ground, opposed to just under 115 yards per game through the air
Final Thoughts
Last year, this matchup was decided by one point, a final score of 35-34. Mount Carmel was the better team last season, however this time around I believe Mifflinburg is the better squad. Their offense has performed on cylinders that we haven’t seen from them before, both through the air and on the ground. Though I believe this game will be just as good of a matchup as it was a season ago, this time I think Mifflinburg will prevail.
My Prediction
Mifflinburg – 35
Mount Carmel – 27
