The Cahillites Cap Off A Successful 2025 Campaign With Plethora of All-State Players

The Roman Catholic Cahillites dominated the 2025 football season, taking home the 5A State Championship title over Bishop McDevitt. Pennsylvania football writers came together to craft the 5A All-State team. The Cahillites had a stellar performance on the All-State list, landing 5 players and the Coach of the Year.

Here’s a breakdown of every single Cahillites All-State Players/Coach.

Coach Of the Year

Roman HC Rick Prete is the 5A Coach of the Year. Prete has been the Head Coach of Roman Catholic since 2019. Since then, he has taken his squad to two State Championship appearances, losing one and winning one. This year was the year his Cahillites brought home a State Championship trophy, ultimately putting him as the lead contender for Coach of the Year. Prete was also named PCL Coach of the Year this year, adding to his legacy at Roman Catholic.

Player of the Year

QB Semaj Beals was named as the player of the year on the writers’ 5A State-Team. Beals had one of, if not the best, years of his HS career. Beals completed 233 of his 339 attempts, accumulating 3375 yards and 48 passing touchdowns in the process. Beals was not afraid to use his legs either, rushing for 258 yards on 86 attempts with 4 rushing touchdowns. The current Cahillite will be taking his talents to Akron next fall.

Ash Roberts

Ash Roberts had a stellar senior year campaign, officially announcing his commitment to Temple along the way. Roberts was Beal’s favorite target this season. Roberts developed into an elite deep ball threat as well as an overall problem for opposing defenses. The star receiver hauled in 63 passes for 1024 yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. Roberts piled on 2 kickreturn touchdowns this season, also.

Eyan Stead

The Cahillites have another star receiver in Eyan Stead. Stead plays both sides of the ball at an efficient rate and will be teaming back up with his WR counterpart, Ash Roberts, at Temple next fall. Stead was recognized on the all-writers team as a WR despite being a star Corner as well. Stead pulled in 62 passes for 950 yards, 14 receiving scores, and 1 rushing touchdown.

Coron Russell

Linebacker Coron Russell had a great season in 2025. The Freshman picked up major offers along the way this year, including Ohio State, Penn State, Syracuse, and more. Russell had 52 total tackles, along with 2 sacks and 4 pass deflections this year. Russell was one of the main pieces of the dominant Roman Catholic defense that terrorized opposing offenses.

Justus Gaskin

Gaskin had a spectacular season, showing out in his final year at Roman Catholic. The star DB posted a spectacular stat line in 2025, consisting of 62 tackles, 4 TFL, 14 pass deflections, and 3 interceptions with one pick six. Gaskin will now head out to Stony Brook for the 2026 season, where he looks to pick up right where he left off.
