As I looked at the week one Heritage Conference schedule, I thought there were some good matchups. Where should I go? When Coach Studer told me they were getting a new turf field I told him I would be there. They just got the turf down in time, about 48 hours before the opener. I thought this would be one of the better games between two very good lines. Both lines played well with the Indians playing slightly better. The big difference was the tons of errors made by the visiting Dragons.

The Dragons won the toss and decided to take the ball. Three plays later on third down Dawson Statler picked off a PL pass and walked into the end zone.

Both teams exchanged punts before the Red Dragons scored their only touchdown on their third possession. PL drove 74 yards for a touchdown. Victor Bartlebaugh took a jet sweep to the left cut inside and raced 38 yards for a touchdown. The quarter ended 7-6 thanks to a penalty on the PL special teams which resulted in a missed extra point.

The Indians responded immediately. Brennan Lohr capped a 58 yard drive with a five yard run.

Lohr would end up with over 100 yards rushing. Pl punted on their next possession. The Indians took three plays to go 65 yards. On third and long quarterback Grayson Studer hit DJ Bambina for a 64 yard touchdown. Bambina got behind the defense and Studer hit him in stride. The half ended with CT up by 14 points.

The third quarter was a battle between the two lines. CT controlled the field position thanks to a long kickoff return to start the half. PL was pinned back inside their 10 as the quarter was ending. On fourth down Bartlebaugh was unable to get the punt off and was tackled in the end zone for a safety.

CT started the fourth quarter in great field position due to another good return. This time on the free kick. Lohr raced down the left sideline for a 40 yard touchdown for his second touchdown and went over the. 100 yard mark. Final Indians 29 Red Dragons 6

Red Dragons

Offense Struggled

O-line did a good job pushing the piles

Way too many pre snap penalties

VICTOR is a stud & a play maker. I think he led PL in tackles (plays corner), yards and hit some booming punts.

Indians

They are big & play big.

Jack Dougherty had a big game.

Greyson Studer made the plays when they needed too.

Brennan Lohr ran hard.

Next Week PL on the road again vs Colts

CT at home again vs Wolves

Congratulations to Coach Studer & the Indians

Beautiful facility-I was at the coach’s first game in Saltsburg and saw them last year at Penns Manor. The Indians really turned it around. I thought I was bad luck, they outplayed their opponents in both those games and loss. It is looking like a very good season.
