PAC (Pioneer Athletic Conference) Media Day kicked off last week at Springford High School. All 12 teams spoke and gave insight and information about what to expect. Enthusiasm and confidence led the way throughout the day.

First up, the Liberty division. This division consists of  Spring-Ford, Perkiomen Valley, Owen J Roberts, Methacton, Boyertown, and Norristown. A lot of short, knowledgeable, and consistent answers came from this side of the PAC. Starting with Spring-Ford, they promoted Mike Palmer to the head coaching position, and all their guys said the transition between coaches has been very smooth thus far. Perkiomen Valley has been looked upon highly this preseason, looking to win the division. Owen J Roberts guys showed nothing but class. Methacton really thinks they used offseason time to their advantage, emphasizing how important it is to make sure their guys have self-time as well as putting in the work on the field. Boyertown doubled down on the improvement in the run game, as well as doing all the little things correctly. Last but not least, Norristown. The Eagles really talked about how important consistency is.

Next, the Frontier Division. This division consists of Pope John Paul ll, Upper Merion, Phoenixville, Upper Perkiomen, Pottsgrove, and Pottstown. Starting with the Golden Panthers, like Spring-Ford, they got a new head coach. All their guys, as well, said the transition has been smooth for the most part, but at times a little different. Upper Merion stated how the transition from former QB Jackson Solley (Episcopal Transfer) to starting QB Rudolf Wilhelm has been. Phoenixville talked about how being young and inexperienced this season can actually work to their advantage, saying that the work in practice from last year’s seniors is how they would benefit. Upper Perkiomen mentioned their growth culturally. A lot of guys said that aspect helped a ton last season when it came to winning games. Pottsgrove, finishing 7-4 last year, looks to carry that momentum into the upcoming season. Pottstown believes availability comes before anything, saying the classroom prepares your play on Friday nights.
