Parkland Outlasts Northampton 38-27 in Battle of the Unbeatens Video Recap:

The Battle of Unbeatens in Orefield did not disappoint, these teams were evenly matched most of the night. They got big plays from their skill positions, TJ Lawrence ran for two touchdowns, Nass Adams had two catches for touchdowns, one for 72 yds. Finn Coen passed for three touchdowns, Gavin Taff connected twice to Joey High in the air for two touchdowns and big plays on defense by both teams. But in the end back to back penalties and a muffed punt by Northampton was the difference in this game. Parkland stayed unbeaten 38-27

Northampton won the toss, deferred and kicked off to Parkland. The Trojans started on their own 33 and got a 1st down on a Finn Coen 11 yrd run but punted after the next set of downs. Neither Northampton nor Parkland were able to extend any drives.
But then Parkland’s Finn Coen connected for 21yds to Blake Nassry for the score. The Trojans went up 7-0 with 3:38 left in the 1st qtr.

Then it was Northampton’s turn. The KKids had great field position and started on Parkland’s 40. Gavin Taff hit Joey High for a 15 yd touchdown pass with 9:04 left in the 2nd qtr and tied the score at 7-7.Parkland started on their own 38 and aided by a Northampton penalty they drove to the 15 where TJ Lawrence ran the ball in for the score with 5:36 in the 2nd qtr and made it 14-7 Trojans

The Kids came right back and tied it when Gavin Taff hit Joey High again for another score, this time it was from 22 yds out to make it 14-14 with 3:43 left in the half. But only 20 seconds later, on the first play of the drive from the 28, Parkland’s Finn Coen hit Nass Adams with a short pass that he took to the house for 72 yds and put the Trojans back on top 21-14. Northampton tried to keep pace with the Trojans, but their drive stalled at the 49 and they had to punt with 1:38 left in the half.

Parkland started on their own 24 and with the help of back to back penalties, 4 plays later Finn Coen connected again with Nass Adams for a touchdown, this time from 21 yds out with 35.3 left in the half 28-14 in favor of Parkland. The Kids ran out of time on their next possession, the half ended with the Trojans up 28-14.

Parkland kicked off to start the 2nd half and Northampton had great field position at their own 44 but went 3 and out, then punted to Parkland.
The Trojans started on their own 27 and Finn Coen ran 28 yds and 35 yds, then from the 10 TJ Lawrence ran it in for his 2nd touchdown of the game with 9:53 3rd, Parkland went up 35-14. The Kids got the ball on their own 31 and ground their way to the 27, then Gavin Taff ran 15 yds to the 12. Then on 1st and goal from the 1 Keegan Hackett scored to close the gap, Parkland led 35-21 with 2:57 left in the 3rd. But the Kids were not finished yet.

The Trojans went 3 and out and a 18 yd punt gave Northampton the ball on Parklands 49 yd line. Northampton pounded the ball on the ground to the 24 where Gavin Taff passed to Cameron Hersch for a 15 yd catch to the 9 where Zander Rickert took it in for the score with 9:52 4th qtr. After the first missed point after of the night Trojans lead was cut to 35-27 and Coach Toman had to feel good about his team’s chances of pulling off the comeback. And they got what they needed, a 3 and out buy Parkland, another short punt and the Kids had excellent field position at the Trojans 47. But were unable to convert on 4th and 1 and Northampton turned ball over on downs, Parkland kept the Kids hopes alive and went 3 and out again. But a muffed punt gave the ball right back to the Trojans who drove to the 4 and Greyson Dancsecs kicked a field goal and made it 38-27 which was the final score from Orefield. Parkland wins 38-27 over Northampton.
