TROJANS COMEBACK #3 OVER BETHLEHEM FREEDOM 19-15

Parkland Trojans have played 3 games this far in 2021 and they have 3 comeback wins. The cardiac kids are their nickname. Led by new quarterback Luke Spang, Parkland drove down the field and scored to take a 19-15 lead late in the 4th quarter. Freedom tried to drive down the field with seconds left as the ball from the center was snapped over the quarterback Brian Taylor’s head which led to a fumble recovery by Parkland and the game was sealed.

Sophomore quarterback Luke Spang, starting his first game completed 10 of 14 passes for 136 yards with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Trey Tremba, Ty’s brother, in the first half. He managed the game very well and did not produce a single turnover.
Parkland relied heavily on Dehlir Adams who ran for 112 yards on 28 carries and a TD. The score difference was field goals by Gryffin Mitstifer from 40 and 42 yards and could have gone from 60.

A game-opening kick-off return of 60 yards by Noah Pierre set up a 24-yard field goal by Zeyad Ragab and Freedom had a 3-0 lead. Two possessions later, Brian Taylor threw an 87-yard catch-and-run to Owen Johnson for a touchdown and it was 9-0 Freedom.
At the half, it was Parkland 13-9 and then Deante Crawford dove in from the 1-yard line, and Freedom was up 15-13. But Mitstifer hit on his two field goals and it was over.

Freedom falls to 2-2 (1-2 in the South) and Parkland goes to 3-0 (2-0 in the South)
