The Penns Valley Rams used a two-headed attack in their Mountain league victory over the Huntingdon Bearcats Friday night. Senior Seth Baney led the Rams attack rushing for 173 yards and two total touchdowns followed by Senior quarterback Aidan Brinker who had 65 yards rushing and accounted for three total touchdowns. The Bearcats weren’t going out without a fight as Senior Darin Harman accounted for all three Bearcat touchdowns with one passing and two receiving.

Friday night’s game started well for the Bearcats. On the Ram’s first possession of the game, Brinker dropped back to pass but after a drop from Senior Mason Lieb the ball was intercepted by the Bearcats. The first quarter flew by Friday night with both teams doing a heavy amount of running.

The second quarter opened with a Rams touchdown. Brinker connected with Senior Stephen Ripka for a nine-yard touchdown. The point-after attempt by Gage Ripka was good, making the score 7-0 Rams. The Bearcat’s next possession resulted in a fumble recovered by Rams Ben Sharer at the 43-yard line. The Rams wasted no time driving down the field and capped off by Brinker from one yard out. The point-after attempt by Gage Ripka was good, making the score 14-0 Rams. Penns Valley had a chance to score for a third time after a fake punt by the Bearcats resulted in a turnover on downs, but the Rams offense stalled in the red zone and they turned the ball over on downs. The Bearcats wasted no time to score after the Rams turnover. Senior running back Braylan Ronk came in as quarterback and delivered a 54-yard strike to Harmin to get points on the board right before halftime. The kick was no good making the halftime score 14-6 Rams.

To open the second half the Rams offense took no time to score as they drove down the field and capped off the drive with a one-yard rush by Baney for his first touchdown of the night. The point-after attempt by Gage Ripka was good, making the score 21-6 Rams.

To start the fourth quarter the Bearcats answered the Rams touchdown with one of their own when Harmin found Senior Tyson Cook from 55 yards out. The two-point conversion was no good making the score 21-12 Rams. The Rams offense came back and Baney scored his second touchdown of the night from 20 yards out. The point-after attempt by Gage Ripka was good, making the score 28-12 Rams. The final Bearcat score of the night came again from Harmin. This time from 37 yards out after a Ronk pass Harmin climbed over the defender for the touchdown. The two-point conversion was no good making the score 28-18 Rams.

The final score of the night came late in the fourth quarter when Brinker scrambled on a fourth down from 12 yards out for the Rams touchdown. The point-after attempt was good making the final score 35-18 Rams. The Bearcats will look to bounce back next week when they face Mount Union. The Rams however are questionable to play next week. There is a possibility that the Rams will face Bald Eagle next Friday.
