Season Recap:

For the second time in four years, the Beaver Falls Tigers took home the WPIAL 2A crown by beating the Steel Valley Ironmen 14-12. After a very rocky 2023 season, Beaver Falls finished with a 4-3 conference record and a 5-5 overall record. Beaver Falls finished in 4th place in the Midwestern and made it into the WPIAL playoffs as the 10th seed in the tournament. Beaver Falls surprised a lot of people with a round one win over seventh seeded Keystone Oaks, winning 20-7. Beaver Falls continued their run to the WPIAL championship with an upset win in round two against the second seeded Neshannock Lancers and against the number three seeded Washington Prexies to get to Acrisure Stadium. Beaver Falls then won a close battle with the top seeded Steel Valley in their second 2A WPIAL Championship in the past four seasons, and their second appearance in the PIAA semifinals under head coach Nick Nardone.

Key’s on Offense:

The offense is led by quarterback Da’Sean Anderson who leads the team in passing yards among four different quarterbacks with 789 passing yards and five touchdowns. The team is also very heavy in the rushing game with their starting running back Da’Talian Beauford will 1,436 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns this season along with kicking 12 PAT’s for Beaver Falls this season. Beaver Falls used a total of 15 different running backs over the course of the season with six different running backs reaching over 100 rushing yards this season. Even though Beaver Falls have run the ball a lot this season, they still had a lot of producers at the wide receiver position, being led by wide receiver Di’Nari Harris with 25 receptions, 427 yards, and five touchdowns on the season. Beaver Falls offense had a total of 382 points scored over the course of the season, placing them in third in the Midwestern Conference.

Key’s on Defense:

Even with Beaver Falls finishing with a 5-5 overall record, three of their five losses have been one score games including a 27-26 overtime loss to the Neshannock Lancers. Beaver Falls defense also has held their opponents to less than six point three times during the season. Heading into the semifinal matchup against Westinghouse, Beaver Falls defense is red hot lately holding their opponents to less than 13 points in three games in the playoffs.

Beaver Falls defense has to be well disciplined and to stay with the Bulldogs to stop a Westinghouse offense who can both run and pass the football deep on an equal basis.

If Beaver Falls wins this game they will take on either Dunmore or Southern Columbia in the PIAA Finals.
