Northwestern Lehigh Tigers

13-0

Head Football Coach: Josh Snyder

About the Tigers:

Northwestern, currently ranked 5th in Class 3A in the State comes in undefeated on the year and fresh off a District XI 3A Championship drubbing of formerly undefeated Palmerton (12-1) by a score of 58-8.  Both sides of the ball for the Tigers have been outstanding this season.  The offensive and defensive lines both have been bullying opposing lines and the Tiger rushing attack and defense have benefitted greatly from it. Look for more of the same as the Tigers stick to what has gotten them here, controlling the line of scrimmage, suffocating defense, and a punishing ground attack.

Who to watch for:

Shane Leh – (98-157) 1,475 yards, 21 TD

Dalton Clymer – 219 rush attempts, 1,596 yards, 26 TD

Mason Bollinger – 21 rec, 396 yards, 4 TD

Devon Hildebrand – 42 rec, 526 yards, 7 TD

Shane Hulmes – 69 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 2FF, 1 FR, 1 INT

Bryer Reichard – 53 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 1 INT

The Tigers’ Playoff Road to get here:

11/2 vs Lehighton W (58-14)

11/10 vs Notre Dame Green Pond W (43-31)

11/17 vs Palmerton W (58-8)

Scranton Prep Cavaliers

12-1

Head Football Coach: Terry Gallagher

About the Cavaliers:

The Cavaliers, ranked 7th in class 3A are currently riding an 8 game winning streak after defeating The Neumann-Goretti Saints 23-16 in a rematch from last year’s Class 3A playoffs which was won by  Neumann 22-14.  The only loss for The Cavaliers this season was early in the regular season to 5A Delaware Valley 27-31. Similarly to Northwestern, the Cavaliers ground attack is what got them here and I fully expect them to continue to pound the rock in their attempt to get to the state semi-finals.

Who to watch for:

Louis Paris – (80-121), 1,187 yards, 18TD, 4 INT, 65 rushes , 434 yards, 10 TD

Quinten Palermo – 118 rushes, 949 yards, 14 TD

Liam Barrett – 671 Rec Yards, 9 Rec TD, 2 Punt Return TD

Andrew Summa – 373 Rec Yards, 5 TD, 4 Def INT, 1 INT return for TD

The Cavaliers’ Playoff Road to get here:

11/4 vs Hanover Area W (54-0)

11/11 vs Western Wayne W (45-14)

11/18 @ Neumann-Goretti W (23-16)
