It was the tale of 2 halves for Pine Richland. After getting off to a hot start in the first half. The second half was dominated by Peters Township and Pine Richland fell 20-19.

Pine Richland started the game with ball at their own 27 yard line. After a big run they were in Peters Township territory. Later on they went for it on fourth down and converted. A few plays after Jay Timmons scored on a 2 yard run. That made the score 7-0 Pine Richland with 7:04 in the first quarter.

Pine Richland started their third drive on the Peters Township 49 yard line. It was a long drive but eventually Pine Richland extended their lead on a 3 yard run by Aaron Strader. That made the score 12-0 Pine Richland with 10:55 in the second quarter.

Later in the second quarter Pine Richland struck once again. That drive started at the Peters Township 45 yard line. Later on in the drive Pine Richland went for it on fourth down and Aaron Strader found Khalil Taylor for a 23 yard touchdown pass. That made the score 19-0 Pine Richland with 4:13 in the second quarter. That was also the score at halftime.

In the first half Pine Richland’s offense was dominant. They had 169 yards rushing. Aaron Strader had 56 yards on 13 carries. Jay Timmons had 61 yards on 7 carries. “We did some things, executed some things, and we didn’t execute them in the second half” said Coach LeDonne.

For Pine Richland the second half was the polar opposite of the first half. They just couldn’t move the ball at all. Peters Township just completely shut down Pine Richland in the second half.

Pine Richland only had three first downs in the second, 2 of which came on the final drive.

After Peters Township took the lead Pine Richland got the ball back but after that they fumbled the ball away.

After a missed field goal Pine Richland had the chance to rally. On the third play Aaron Strader completed a pass to Jay Timmons down to the Peters Township 38 yard line. After that they turned the ball over on downs when a run fell just short of the line to gain. “That team over there is a heck of a program, and they’re well coached, we knew they were gonna battle, and we did some tossy things, they had a couple costly penalties that hurt us” said Coach LeDonne.
