When you have one of the top passing quarterbacks (Aiden Patton) in the state and you have an all-state wide receiver (Blake Pisarcik), that is a recipe for success. But Brockway’s tough schedule has taken a toll and the offense has struggled at times mainly in the running game. So, with that in mind, Coach Jake Heigel and his staff moved their all-state receiver to running back for some plays and it paid dividends last night. The Rovers appear to have a recipe for success again.
The contest, played at Vidunas Stadium in Rimersburg, found the Brockway Rovers defeating the Union-AC Valley Falcon-Knights 41-20. Coach Heigel decided to balance the attack more and run the ball more than normal. Pisarcik unofficially rushed for 145 yards on 20 carries, scoring twice. He also grabbed three passes for 35 yards and another touchdown. The other back Brockway used, Raiden Craft, carried the ball 15 times for 96 yards unofficially. He found the end zone on one of those totes.
Coach Heigel had this to say about Pisarcik, “He’s really starting to settle in and run between the tackles. He’s a really, really nice athlete to have. He works hard and the other guys love him.”
Patton still got to throw 20 passes completing 14 for 189 yards unofficially. Among those 14 completions were three TD tosses, one to Pisarcik, one to Caleb Daugherty, and one to Aiden Snowberger. Patton completed passes to six different receivers with Daugherty catching six which was the most.

Brockway’s Blake Pisarcik is on the left and Aiden Patton is on the right.
Union-AC Valley gets some credit here too. They did not throw in the towel. They battled back from a 27-6 deficit to draw within a score late in the third quarter. Quarterback Owen Bish led the charge throwing three touchdown passes to account for all of the Falcon-Knights scoring. Bish completed 14 of 25 passes for 160 yards. Max Gallagher had a nice game too for the Falcon-Knights. He hauled in 7 passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Gallagher also rushed for 33 yards and was a real menace on defense.
Brockway scored twice in the first quarter on a Patton to Daugherty pass play and a short run by Craft. The Rovers scored again with four minutes left in the second to take a commanding 20-0 lead. That touchdown was Pisarcik’s touchdown catch of a Patton pass. Brockway’s defense got the ball back for the offense, but the Falcon-Knight defense stiffened, and Brockway turned the ball over on downs at UACV’s 43 with 39 seconds left.
A 10-yard penalty moved the ball back for Union-AC Valley. The first play Gallagher ran for 20 yards. The next play Bish hit Aidan Fox with a short pass and Fox did the rest, outracing Brockway’s defenders to the end zone for a 47-yard score.
That late touchdown gave Union-ACV some momentum going into the half which they continued to build upon in the third quarter scoring two more times. But that was after Patton hit Snowberger for a 77-yard pass and run. Later in the quarter, Brockway muffed a punt giving the Falcon-Knights good field position. Bish found Gallagher on the first play to draw the Falcon-Knights to within two scores. Then after a long, sustained drive, about their only one of the night, Union-ACV made it a close game when Trent Fleming was on the receiving end of a Bish throw.
But Brockway did not panic and leaned a little on their all-stater. Pisarcik responded by scoring two fourth quarter touchdowns running the ball. The first was a short run that gave the Rovers a two-score cushion again, the second put the nail in the coffin when he scampered 63 yards on a brilliant run.
Game Notes and Quotes: Snowberger has 13 catches this year for 508 yards. That is an average of 39.1 yards per catch. Six of those thirteen catches have gone for touchdowns. “He’s a nice vertical threat to have at any given time,” said Heigel. In the past four seasons, Union-AC Valley owned a 3-2 record against Brockway as they seem to match up well against the Rovers. When asked about this Coach Heigel laughed and said, “I think they used up a little of their magic last week (against Punxsy).” Brockway outgained Union-AC Valley 436 yards to 215.
Brockway bumps their record to 5-3 while Union-AC Valley falls to 5-3. Next week Brockway will host a very good DuBois team who only has one loss. Meanwhile, Union-AC Valley will be home again against winless Moniteau.
