Porter’s Four Touchdowns lead Kiski School to victory over Potomac School!

GRSN Game of the Week

Potomac School Panthers McLean Va (3-1) at Kiski School Cougars (2-3)

Last Meeting 10/7/2023 Kiski 0 @Potomac 27

The Kiski Cougars evened their record at 3-3 after a dominating win today over the visiting Panthers of the Potomac School. The Cougars never trailed in the game. Levi Porter returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown. Kiski was off and running.

The Panthers got a first down via a penalty before a sack stopped their drive. The Cougars got the ball on their own 35 after the punt. It took them 1 play to score as quarterback Mason Smith hit Cedric Ragland in stride down the right sideline for a 65 yard touchdown. The Panthers next drive started with a 43 yard pass play. It ended when quarterback Sean Sutherland was intercepted by Phoenix Josten Manzanero. The Cougars third possession was a 72 yard, 7 play drive that resulted in their third touchdown. Smith threw his second touchdown pass of the game to tight end Hunter Richardson.

The Panthers would pick up their second first down of the game before Sutherland hit Akim Iscandari on a long pass down the middle for their first score. The first quarter finally ended.

The second quarter saw each team get a total of three possessions. The Cougars possessions,  were two long drives which resulted in a touchdown and a punt. Their final drive of the half was only 4 yards but resulted in a touchdown. Smith scoring from 3 yards out.

The Panthers drives ended with two interceptions and the half running out. Cedric Ragland intercepted both passes for the Kiski School.

Things got worse for the Panthers in the second half as they turned the ball over on all three third quarter possessions. Levi Porter picked off passes on their first two drives, returning both for touchdowns. The second started the mercy rule.

Joshua Silnutzer  recovered a fumble on the next drive. Both teams played their backups the rest of the way.  Both reserve teams made nice drives using up the entire clock. Richard Perry ran one in for Potomac to round out the scoring. The Cougars looked good in all phases and Porter shined again!
