It couldn’t be more fitting for the Scranton Prep program on the team’s 50th anniversary of their program to scored 50 points en route to their 50-13 win over Honesdale.

Prep received the opening kickoff and went to work. Running back Quenten Palermo -who finished with 2 rushing touchdowns-led the Cavilers all the way downfield before quarterback, Sean Monahan, finished the drive with a touchdown. The extra point was good, and with 9 minutes on the clock, it was 7-0 Prep. The quick score would set a tone for the rest of the game, as just 5 minutes later, Prep would find the end zone again. A 38-yard strike to Robert Rossi would set Quenten Palermo for the 1-yard touchdown run. A play later, the extra point was good, and with 4:51 left the Cavilers led 14-0. Prep would find the end zone twice in a matter of 2 minutes when a Honesdale fumble set up Prep at the 50, and just 5 plays later Quenten Palmero would run it from 5 yards out for another score. The Cavilers would go for 2 and convert,  22-0 Prep. On the ensuing Kickoff, Prep forced a fumbled and recovered it on the 42-yard line, setting up the Cavilers for their final score of the quarter as the Big fullback Michael Golay ran it from 2 yards out with 18 seconds left, making the score 28-0 Prep as the quarter came to a close

Prep would find the end zone 3 times in the third quarter. The first came when Honesdale botched a snap on a punt giving the Calivers great field position.  The drive was capped off when Monahan found Robert Rossi in the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown, making the score 36-0 Prep. Prep’s defense would stop Honesdale on fourth down, giving the Cavilers the ball from the 50-yard line. The drive saw Prep utilize their incredible run game as they marched all the way down to the 3-yard line before T.J Roque would punch it in for another score,  43-0. Prep’s final score of the game came with just 27 seconds left in the quarter as Max Tierney ran it in from 1 yard out. It was 50-0 Prep heading into the locker room.

The Hornets would score their only points of the game in the third quarter. Five minutes into the third quarter,  Aiden Collins found Kage Southerton for a 47 yards touchdown pass that got the Hornets on the board. The extra point was no good and the score was now Prep 50, Honesdale 6 with 8:47 left in the quarter. The Hornets would score one more time with 3 minutes left in the quarter; an Aiden Collins pass to Rocco Fluke, set up Jake Mundy for the 2-yard touchdown run. 50-13 Prep.

Both teams would put the backups in for the remainder of the game, and the game ended with the final score being Scranton Prep 50, Honesdale 13. The Cavilers (6-0) will travel to Tunkhannock (2-5).  While Honesdale (2-5) will play host to Valley View (7-0).
