Steelton-Highspire vs Lackawanna Trail

How they got here:

Steelton-Highspire: The Steamrollers defeated Northern Bedford 21-6 to advance to the PIAA Single-A Quarterfinals.

Lackawanna Trail: The Lions shutout Minersville 40-0 to get to the Single-A State Quarterfinals.

About Steelton-Highspire: The Steamrollers are led by quarterback Alex Erby. He has thrown for 3,462 yards and 47 touchdown passes on the season. Jaeion Perry has 986 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns on the season. Wideout Durrell Caesar Jr has 1,694 yards and 12 touchdowns on the 2023 season. They have Ohio commit Andrew Erby anchoring the offensive line.

About Lackawanna Trail: The Lions are very run heavy. Running back Lukas Gumble leads the way with 1,577 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns. Demetrius Douglas has 712 yards on the ground with 12 touchdowns. Hunter Patterson is rushing for 564 yards and 10 touchdowns for the year. Quarterback Stephen Jervis has 668 yards on the ground with 11 touchdowns. Jervis also has seven rushing touchdowns. Max Kimmel has 12 catches for 388 yards and six touchdowns.

Outlook: Both teams are polar opposites on offense. Steelton-Highspire uses a high-powered passing attack. Whereas Lackawanna Trail uses a high-powered running game. The key to the game is to see which team will be able to execute their offense. Which of these teams will advance to the State Semifinals and get one step closer to a State Championship?
