Protime Predictions

A few years ago, Protime and brothers Protime went on a trip down south and stopped at a convenience store for some R and R.  On the magazine rack was a sports magazine.  Inside the magazine was a page with one of those scratch and sniff colognes for men.  Protime liked the fragrance and thinking one of his brothers was standing next to him leaned over without looking and shoved the page in front of his face and said, “here, smell this!”

Well, as it turned out it was not Protime’s brother standing there.  It was some random guy.  Protime quickly put the magazine back and slinked away to the next aisle where Protime found his brothers and relayed the story.  Laughing so hard, Protime and his brothers two fell and started rolling around on the floor.  Just at that moment a lady walked over and saw Protime and his brothers laughing hysterically on the floor.  She rolled her eyes, turned, snooted her nose in the air, and said, “Well, Lord have mercy.  I never…”

Protime loves a good laugh, but takes his predictions seriously even though they are just for fun.  This week, 5 of the 7 preview games pit undefeated teams against each other.  Having a funny feeling of fabulous, the Father of Football Forecasting will now release his picks of the week.

Danville 3-0 @ Loyalsock 3-0 – Huge game in District 4 has the Ironmen going up against the Lancers.  Danville has outscored opponents in 3 games by a score of 179-0.  QB Zach ‘Flash’ Gordan has thrown for 319 yards and 5 TDs.  WR Carson Persing has caught 12 passes for 283 yards and 7 touchdowns.  RB Ty Brown Stauffer has scored 4 times.  Cam Kiersch and Mason Raup head up the unscored upon Ironman defense.  The Lancers of Loyalsock are coming off their dominating win over perennial powerhouse, Southern Columbia.  QB Tyler Gee has 387 yards passing with 4 touchdowns.  RB Davion Hill has traversed the field for 504 yards and scored 4 times.  The Lancer defense is led by Logan Bastion and Gavin Rice.  Protime definitely had to toss his coin for this contest.  Loyalsock will score the first points on Danville this year, but loses to the Ironmen 20-14.

Sharpsville 3-0 @ Slippery Rock 3-0 – A big one in District 10 finds the Blue Devils facing off with the Rockets.  Sharpsville’s offense appears to be unstoppable so far with QB Caullin Summers running the show.  He has passed for 794 yards and 7 TDs, plus he’s rushed for 245 yards and 4 more scores.  WR Gavin Levis has over 300 yards receiving to lead all wide outs.  Christian Snyder leads all Blue Devil defenders with 42 tackles.  The Rockets counter with a very QB of their own in Bill Mokel.  He has tossed the ball for 715 yards and 6 TDs.  The leading rusher is Maddox Allen with 3 TDs.  Brett Galcik has made 33 tackles for the Rockets.  The crystal ball says Sharpsville in a squeaker 28-24.

Central Bucks East 3-0 @ Central Bucks South 3-0 – C.B. East has some talent on both sides of the ball.  Offensively, they are led by an electrifying running back in Ethan Shine.  So far Shine has brightened the Patriot season by scurrying for 539 yards and 10 touchdowns.  QB Pat Keller is another weapon for the Patriots.  He has thrown for 444 yards and 3 TDs.  East plays pretty good defense too and Tommy Day is a big reason why.  The South Titans are led on offense by QB Brett Szarko who has 428 yards passing with 8 TD tosses.  WR Tommy Donnelly has snagged 13 passes for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Their running game is by committee as 13 different people have rushed for positive yardage and 5 different people have scored TDs.  The Titan defense is led by Sean Moskowitz who averages 10 tackle a game.  It’s going to be East 31 and South 28.

Bishop Guilfoyle 2-1 @ Penn Cambria 3-0 – One of the biggies in District 6 finds Guilfoyle, last year’s Class A state champs tangling with Penn Cambria who has really improved the last couple of years.  BG is led by Karson Kriesewetter who has pitched the pigskin for 446 yards and 4 TDs and rushed for 382 yards and 6 TDs.  Defensively, the Marauders have 3 guys with over 30 tackles.  They are Dom Yanoshak, Kaden Wyandt, and Sante Bambocci.  The Panthers have quite a quarterback themselves.  Garrett Harrold has thrown for 673 yards and 8 scores, while running for 230 yards and 4 TDs.  WR Vinny Chirdon has captured 14 passes for 211 yards and 5 TDs.  RB Zach Grove has 355 yards and 5 TDs.  Mason Raymond and Derek Hite led the P.C. defense.  Protime is leaning BG but picking PC.  Panthers 27 Marauders 22.

Allentown Central Catholic 2-1 @ Parkland 2-1 – Protime wonders why he continues to punish himself trying to predict games from the EPC South Conference.  But he never shies-away-from big games no matter where in the state they are played.  A.C.C. has a couple of good running backs in Caiden Shaffer and Nathan Schultz.  Shaffer has scored 7 touchdowns for the Vikings.  QB Matt Keyes has thrown for over 300 yards.  Parkland counters with a pair of worthy RBs themselves.  Trey Tremba and Marquez Wimberly have accounted for 5 TDs.  QB Luke Spang has passed for 452 yards to date and 3 touchdowns.  Victor Pagan leads the Trojan defense.  Parkland 17 Allentown C.C. 14.

Keystone 3-0 @ Redbank Valley 3-0 – The feature game in District 9 is this doozy between the Panthers of Keystone and the Bulldogs of Redbank Valley and Protime will be there!  Keystone gave Redbank their only regular season loss last year.  They have a good nucleus of that team back again led on offense by RB Kyle Nellis who has rushed for 400 yards and 7 TDs.  Tyler Albright is back too and is dangerous any time he touches the rock.  He has over 400 yards running and receiving combined and has crossed the goal line 4 times.  Elijah Will is the leading Panther tackler and Albright has picked off 5 passes in 3 games.  Cam Wagner barks the signals for the Bulldogs.  He’s thrown for 639 yards and 11 touchdowns.  His top 2 receivers are Aiden Ortz and Tate Minich.  Ortz has 12 catches for 223 yards and 4 TDs, while Minich has 16 snared passes for 205 yards and 3 scores.  Caden Adams and Cole Bish both have over 30 tackles for the Bulldogs.  Redbank wins by a point, 21-20.

Neshannock 3-0 @ Western Beaver 3-0 – Here’s a key AA game down in District 7.  Quarterbacks will probably decide this one.  The Lancers trot out Jonny Huff who has passed for 616 yards and a half dozen TDs.  He has also run for 205 yards and a pair of TDs.  The Beavers have Xavier LeFebvre at the helm.  He has 400 tards passing with 6 TDs and has 3 touchdowns rushing the rock.  WR Dorian McGhee has caught 5 TD passes.  Jackson Billyk has 34 tackles for Neshannock.  Protime is going to say Western Beaver 28 Neshannock 20.
