Protime Predictions – Concerts, A Family Tradition

A favorite thing to do for Protime and brothers Protime is to go to concerts. Mostly oldies type individuals and groups. Protime sticks with mostly 50s, 60s, and 70s artists back when music was music, back when boy meets girl and they fell in love or broke up, back when those 60s tragedy songs were a thing. Protime will also throw in country concerts from 70s, 80s, and 90s but nothing after cause it’s not country no matter what people say. Southern Gospel is another favorite.
Now middle brother Protime loves his hard rock concerts like The Who, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, and other groups from back in that era. Protime thinks he may be going deaf though. If the artist doesn’t have loud and long guitar riffs with 5-minute drum solos middle brother Protime isn’t interested. But younger brother Protime takes the cake. He has seen more concerts than Bush has beans. He’s probably more familiar with the artists’ music than the groupies are. Although he was always into pop music, these days you can find him at almost any concert.
Well, Protime feels going to high school football games is like going to a concert. It’s exciting, entertaining, and there’s music when the bands play. This week’s football forecast has a couple more games to discern. So, here are the Great Guesser’s groovy guesses for the week:
Peters Township 5-0 @ Upper St. Clair 5-0 – This is the biggest game in PA this week. The clash of two 5A titans. Peters, ranked #2 by PFN, is led offensively by quarterback Nolan DiLucia with his 1,261 yards passing and 10 touchdowns. WR Nick McCullough is his top target with 525 yards receiving and 5 TD catches. USC is ranked #3 in the state by PFN and are led on the offense by QB Ethan Hellman. In the four games he has played he has passed for 433 yards and 7 TDs. Running backs Julian Dahlem (507 yards with 5 scores) and Dante Coury (548 yards) anchor the Panther ground game. Nate Stohl heads up a quality defense for USC. After consulting the crystal ball, Protime has a slight upset here with USC beating the Indians of Peters Township 24-21.
West York 5-0 @ Eastern York 5-0 – Big game in the York area with two teams battling who are seldom both undefeated when they play, at least in recent years. The Bulldogs of West York depend on the play of quarterback Isaac Roberts for a lot of their offense. Roberts can do it all as he’s thrown for 6 TDs and ran for 8 more. On defense, West York has a very good player in Daesan Trostel. Eastern York’s Golden Knights are led by QB Quinn Bramble, RB Nuhsi Valenti, and freshman WR Demarcus Murray. Bramble is 64 of 78 passing for a whopping 82% completion rate. He’s pitched the pigskin for 1,132 yards and 19 touchdowns. Valenti and Murray both have scored 7 TDs. Cole Staker leads the ‘D’ in tackles and overall, the Golden Knight defense has forced 19 turnovers in just 5 games. Protime flipped a coin and Eastern York wins it by a score of 34-28.
General McLane 4-1 @ Fort LeBouef 4-1 – A good one is shaping up in District 10 this Friday with the Lancers visiting the Bison. The McLane Lancer quarterback, Isaac Zietz has tossed 20 touchdown passes thus far in addition to his 1,450 yards. WR Jacob Zietz leads in yardage and touchdowns with 607 yards and 7 TDs. Jared Corwin has grabbed 5 TD passes and has 397 reception yards. PJ Mitchell is a huge part of the Lancer defense. Fort LeBouef’s Bison love to run the football with Dominic Walters and Damian Blose being two of their top runners. General McLane 27 Fort LeBouef 21.
Williams Valley 5-0 @ Schuylkill Haven 4-1 – Based on what has happened in games involving these two squads so far in 2024, this could be the highest scoring game in the state this week. Haven’s Hurricanes lead the state in scoring, averaging 56 points a game. Williams Valley is averaging 42 points their last 4 games. The WV Vikings are led by QB Brady Shomper who has 775 yards passing and 31 rushing. He’s thrown for 11 scores and run for another 6. Freshman running back, Fletcher Thompson has 590 yards and 5 TDs so far. The Viking ‘D’ is led by the dynamic duo of Skylor Green and Trevon Bair. The Hurricanes are led by Nico Carestia, who has raced for 983 yards and 17 touchdowns. Colton Reber has 569 yards and 8 scores carrying the rock. As a team, Haven has over 2,100 rushing yards in 5 games! Carestia and Reber lead the team in tackles. Protime is calling for another slight upset in a high scoring affair. Schuylkill Haven 54 Williams Valley 47.
