Protime Predictions – Funny Favorite Team Comments

Protime has a friend that is a diehard NY Jet football fan.  Last year when they failed to make the playoffs, he said that he was going to have the Jets as pallbearers at his funeral so they could let him down one last time.  Then the other day when someone was making fun of his Jets for not getting to a Super Bowl since 1969, he said, “Come on man, give us time to rebuild.”  He also said if and when they do make the playoffs, he’ll probably have to have an EKG.

Now if those weren’t hilarious comments, Protime doesn’t know what are hilarious football comments about one’s favorite team.  Then Protime heard a Detroit Lions fan say that the Lions have never even been to a Super Bowl.  One night he had a vision that when he died, he was supposed to go to Hell, but Heaven reconsidered since he was a loyal Lions fan for 50 plus years and they’d count that as time served.

Protime doesn’t really have a favorite high school team.  He just roots for good games each week.  The ole prognosticator was 27-3 last week and sits at 121-35 (.776) for the year.  Here are some goodies for the upcoming week as predicted by the Great Guru of Guess.

St. Joes Prep 3-1 @ LaSalle College 6-0 – Big game down in Philly this week as the SJP Hawks put their 6A ranking of being #1 on the line against a very worthy opponent in the LaSalle Explorers, ranked #2.  Ohio State bound Isaiah West leads the Prep offense with 7 rushing touchdowns and 8 overall.  Sophomore QB Charlie Foulke has been playing well.  He has thrown for 682 yards and 5 TDs.  If it comes down to kicking, St. Joes has Leo Ricci who is perfect in the PAT department this year and has booted a 42-yard field goal.  The Hawk defense is led by Cam Smith who tops the team in tackles, sacks, TFLs, and has blocked a punt.

LaSalle has been tearing it up this year.  Quarterback Gavin Sidwar is the offensive spark as he’s pitched the pigskin for 1,456 yards and 18 touchdowns.  WR Joey O’Brien has hauled in 38 passes for 537 yards and 7 scores.  Desmond Ortiz gets the bulk of the carries at running back and he’s scored 5 touchdowns.  Dylan Clair leads the Explorers in tackles and TFLs on defense.  Protime’s crystal ball has LaSalle winning in a slight upset 27-24.

Jersey Shore 5-1 @ Hollidaysburg 5-1 – The Jersey Shore Bulldogs come into this game ranked 10th in the state in Class 4A, while Hollidaysburg’s Golden Tigers are an Honorable Mention in 5A.  Jersey Shore’s quarterback, Elijah Jordan has 1,296 passing yards with 14 TDs.  He’s also accounted for 350 yards on the ground, scoring 7 rushing TDs.  Evan Snyder has grabbed 34 passes for 639 yards and 8 touchdowns.  Bo Sechrist leads the defense with 71 tackles already.

The Golden Tigers’ offense is led by Maddox Bainey who has passed for 940 yards and 14 touchdowns.  Gavin Bell and Brady Steiner are Bainey’s two main targets.  Steiner has 18 grabs for 343 yards and 5 TDs, while Bell has snared 20 passes for 288 yards and a half dozen TDs.  Josh Banks is one of the leaders on defense.  A coin flip has the visiting Bulldogs eking out the victory over the Golden Tigers by a score of 28-27.

Nazareth 4-2 @ Bethlehem Liberty 6-0 – This should be a whale of a game down in District 11 as the Nazareth Blue Eagles take on the Bethlehem Liberty Hurricanes.  Nazareth doesn’t want another loss and Liberty wants to remain undefeated.  The Blue Eagles are led by QB Peyton Falzone and his 999 yards passing with 10 TD tosses.  He has rushed for another 5 scores.  WR Caleb Newsome has 399 receiving yards with 5 touchdowns.  RB Marquez Wimberly has scored 5 times also.  Vinnie Giacobbe is the tackle leader on defense.

Bethlehem Liberty is led by running back Gabe Green’s 9 touchdowns.  QB Antonio Fontanez has aired it out for 851 yards and 5 TDs.  WR Jake Pukszyn has caught 27 passes for 415 yards and a trio of scores.  The ‘Cane defense is led by Ben Bartholomew.  On a side note, Protime’s favorite high school band is the Bethlehem Liberty Marching Hurricanes.  In another crystal ball vision, Protime has the Nazareth Blue Eagles flying home with the triumph over the Liberty Hurricanes 21-20.

Erie McDowell 4-2 @ Erie Cathedral Prep 5-1 – Here is a rival game equal to almost any in the state.  McDowell is led by QB Blayze Myers and RB Stephon Porter.  Prep is led by QB Davin Friedman with 642 passing yards and 8 TD tosses.  RB Dazarie Carson has scurried for 414 yards and 6 touchdowns.  The Rambler defense is led by Corey Allen.  Protime’s coin flip has McDowell’s Trojans winning in a close one 14-10.
