Protime Predictions – Painting Adventures and Balancing Acts

Protime has been a painting machine this year, painting his merry way around the house.  He’s painted the guest room, he’s painted the mud room, he’s painted ceilings, he’s painted the decorative shingles at the peaks of the house, he’s painted trim, he even managed to paint himself a little bit by accident of course.  About the only things he hasn’t painted this year are the town red and the corners of home plate.

Now when Protime is on the extension ladder outside Mrs. P has to be there and hold it for her inner peace.  But Protime is like a cat.  He has great balance.  He can juggle standing on one foot.  He can tightrope railroad tracks for up to a mile or at least he used to.  And he can stand on one foot leaning out some on the ladder.  In fact, he has only fallen once and that was when he didn’t see the curb creep up on him.  So, Mrs. P need not worry when Protime scales a ladder.

As Protime climbs the pinnacle of predictions and balances the art of prognostications with accuracy and brevity, here are this week’s picks by your practical prophet of premonition.

Strath Haven 4-0 @ Garnet Valley 4-0 – A real cat fight is shaping up between the visiting Panthers and the Jaguars.  Strath Haven does not pass much.  They are led by Shane Green who has rushed for 676 yards and 8 scores.  Luke Mulhern and Green lead the defense in tackles through four games.  The Jags of Garnet Valley are led by QB Luke O’Donoghue who has throw for 774 yards and 10 TDs.  He’s rushed for 5 more TDs.  WR Caden Koehler has 435 reception yards and has caught 5 touchdown passes.  GV’s defense is led by Paxton Hunt.  Protime consulted his crystal ball and Garnet Valley wins 24-21.

Leechburg 4-0 @ Jeannette 4-0 – For Leechburg, Jayden Floyd is the man.  The Blue Devil quarterback has accounted for over 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns to date, 632 of those yards and 13 of those touchdowns have been from him running the ball.  For the Jayhawks of Jeannette, QB Kymone Brown has 498 yards passing with 8 TD tosses plus he’s rushed for 356 yards and 4 scores.  Jayce Powell is by far his favorite target, grabbing passes for 409 yards and 6 TDs.  Eli Jones leads the defense of Jeannette.  Protime is going with the home team.  Jayhawks 32 Blue Devils 26.

Cambria Heights 4-0 @ Northern Cambria 4-0 – These Heritage Conference games can be real slobberknockers.  Cambria Heaghts’ quarterback, Isaac Weiland, has passed for 560 yards and 7 TDs.  The Highlanders like to run, but this year they are running by committee.  Marshall Eckenrode leads the team in tackles.  Northern Cambria’s QB has over 1,000 all-purpose yards with 650 coming through the air.  He’s thrown for 6 touchdowns and rushed for 7.  Zak Kirsch and Lucas Shutty have been stellar on defense so far.  Protime’s crystal ball has the Heights Highlanders edging the N.C. Colts by a score of 14-12.

Lewisburg 4-0 @ Warrior Run 4-0 – Lewisburg RB Jeremiah Davis has roamed for 654 yards and 8 touchdowns.  Quin Michaels heads up the Green Dragon defense.  For the Warrior Run Defenders, James Keifer has passed for 864 yards and 11 scores.  WR Sam Hall has nabbed 24 passes for 511 yards and 6 TDs.  RB Colby Lebarron has rushed for 6 touchdowns.  Eli Butler leads the Warrior Run Defender defense in tackles.  Coin flip has Lewisburg 28 Warrior Run 20.

Lakeview 3-1 @ Reynolds 3-1 – This should be a great battle up in District Ten.  The Lakeview Sailors lean offensively on QB Leyton Zacherl and Ath. Blake Skiles.  Zacherl has accounted for 7 touchdowns and Skiles 8.  Skiles has 4 receiving and 4 rushing.  Brayden Booher is a one-man show on defense with his 54 tackles.  The Raiders of Reynolds depend on Xavier Zachrich and Gabe Minjarez for their offense.  Zachrich is the QB and has 4 TDs passing and 4 TDs running.  Minjarez has toted the ball for 495 yards and a trio of scores.  Jacob Blackburn leads in tackles.  Reynolds 20 Lakeview 13.
