Protime Predictions – Protime’s Trip

| September 28, 2023

Last week Protime decided he needed a break, so he went on a vacation with Mrs. P to Noah’s Ark and Creation in Kentucky.  His question is this, ‘is it really a vacation if you are retired?’  That aside, Protime decided to get involved with the wildlife sections of each destination.  He got to pet a 3” Madagascar cockroach, had five milk or corn snakes put around his neck, and helped hold a 14-foot, 120-pound boa constrictor.  In addition, he rode a camel and got something similar to seasickness.  Then he boxed a box turtle and hurt his hand.

Protime (in case you didn’t know) is second from the left.

After Protime became one with the wildlife, he learned a lot about a plethora of things before and following The Flood.  It was well worth the trip.  Protime highly recommends the journey.  The Ark itself had everyone in awe.  And to answer everyone’s question, yes Protime took in a high school football game from Kentucky.  In fact, unbeknownst to Mrs. Protime, he made reservations at a hotel that was within ten minutes of two high school games.

The Prophet of Premonition went 18-6 last week.  He missed two games by only two points of hitting the score exactly.  Protime’s record to date is 101-23-1 for an 81.4 % accuracy percentage.  It doesn’t get any easier and the Super Surmiser doesn’t shy away from the big games.  So, here are the predictions for this week.

Bishop Canevin 21 Ft. Cherry 20 – There is no way to know who will win this game except a Protime coin toss.  The Canevin Crusaders move to 5-0 and the Ft, Cherry Rangers drop to 5-1.  This will not be the last time these two meet this year.

Garden Spot 17 Ephrata 14 – The crystal ball says take the Spartans by 3.  The Ephrata Mountaineers are 5-0 for the first time in 25 years and are on their way to making the playoffs for the first time since 1986.  Don’t be surprised the Mounts win, but hard to go against Garden Spot when at home.

Cathedral Prep 24 McDowell 17 – This rivalry game causes another Protime coin flip and the Ramblers get the nod over the Trojans their crosstown foe in a very physical game.

Abington Heights 15 Valley View 14 – Wow, this is another toss-up with the Comets just barely getting past the undefeated Cougars of Valley View.

Penns Valley 31 Clearfield 21 – Starting with Penns Valley, in the next four weeks Clearfield will play teams with a combined record of 19-1 at this junction.  The Bison are a decent team, but Protime has the Rams coming out the victor.

Coatesville 22 West Chester Rustin 20 – The Red Raiders play an inspired game and edge the unblemished Golden Knights.  When Protime saw Rustin play a few years back he told Mrs. P that the Golden Knights would be a great name for a hockey team.  Isn’t it a bit of irony that the Vegas Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup in 2023?

Cameron County 29 Bucktail 26 – In what might be considered a bit of an upset, these Red Raiders from Emporium defeat the Bucks from Renovo in a nail-biter.

Cocalico 35 ELCO 28 – The Eagles are soaring after they failed to get off the ground in their first game.  Meanwhile, the Raiders hit a tough spot in their schedule playing Wyomissing and Cocalico in back-to-back weeks.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic 42 Canon-McMillan 21 – The Vikings continue to roll as a possible showdown with St. Joes Prep looming in the horizon.  The Macs are a good team, but PCC is a very good team.

Nazareth 31 Allentown Central Catholic 27 – Both teams lost to Parkland.  Based on that, the Eagles appear to be a tad better, but never, ever count out the ACC Vikings.  This will be a battle.

Redbank Valley 38 Union.AC Valley 18 – UACV upset Brockway, but the Redbank Bulldogs will not let that happen.  The Falcon-Knights will give RBV fits for a while.

Abraham Lincoln 28 Simon Gratz 14 – The Rail Splitters get their first win of the season against a tough Bulldog eleven.

Chestnut Ridge 27 Central Cambria 20 – The Ridge continues to roll on as the Lions beat back the Red Devils in an entertaining contest.

Council Rock South 21 Hatboro-Horsham 10 – In this game, it’ll be the Golden Hawks soaring above the Hatboro Hatters.  Protime is always looking for competitive games he can predict involving some different teams and this one fits the bill.

Berlin 24 Meyersdale 14 – Down in District 5, the Mountaineers of Berlin Brothersvalley climb past the visiting Warriors.

Wyoming 26 Scranton 20 – The Warriors up their record to 6-0 as they score late to sneak by the Knights.

Meadville 29 Oil City 28 – Protime is going to this game and he shouldn’t be disappointed.  He has never seen the Oilers’ Ethan Knox play.  Knox has 1,141 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns in just 4 games played so far.  Protime has a feeling Knox will have another good night running the ball, but he also thinks the Bulldogs pull it out before the home crowd.

Southern Columbia 41 Montoursville 22 – The Southern coaching staff may be the best ever in PA.  Coach Roth already has the most wins ever in PA.  The players play a system, execute at a high level, and make very few mistakes.  Montoursville has a great program going and the Warriors are not to be trifled with.  But on this night the Tigers prowl.

North Allegany 28 Pine Richland 24 – Close game involving two pretty darn good teams, but the N.A. Tigers find a way to triumph over the P.R. Rams.

Twin Valley 35 Solanco 17 – The Raiders kick the Golden Mules to remain unbeaten at 6-0.

Westinghouse 33 Hollidaysburg 28 – The House travels to Hollidaysburg and returns home with the ‘W.’  This one should be exciting for the fans as the Bulldogs squeak by the Golden Tigers.

Downingtown West 34 West Chester East 23 – The Whippets go to 6-0 by beating the Vikings in a tougher game than West planned on.

Central Clarion 49 Karns City 35 – Protime envisions this game to be high scoring but the Wildcats are just too much for the Gremlins.

Milton 28 Hughesville 20 – The Black Panthers claw their way past the Spartans.

River Valley 13 Marion Center 7 – In a low scoring affair, the River Valley Panthers take the sting out of the Marion Center Stingers.
