PSAC 2023 Week 11 in Review

Kutztown 31 Slippery Rock 7

Bears running back Darryl Davis-McNeil rushed for 146 yards with two touchdowns and quarterback Judd Novak threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns as Kutztown pulled off the upset of 4th ranked Slippery Rock to win the PSAC Championship. The Bears defense picked off three passes in the victory. The Rock quarterback Brayden Long threw for 182 yards and a touchdown pass to Kyle Sheets. Kutztown improved to 9-2 and won their seventh straight game. Slippery Rock lost their first game of the season to go to 10-1 on the year.

IUP 31 Bloomsburg 0

Crimson Hawks running back Dayjure Stewart rushed for 186 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Hunter Karst threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns as IUP pitched a shutout of Bloomsburg. The Crimson Hawks defense held Bloomsburg’s offense to nine first downs and 140 yards of total offense. Huskies wideout Jerry Griffen-Batchler had three catches for 71 yards. IUP finished their season at 6-5. Bloomsburg ended their season at 3-8.

East Stroudsburg 37 California (PA) 30

Warriors quarterback Charlie McKee threw for 228 yards with three touchdowns and wideout John Siggins had three catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns as East Stroudsburg defeated California. Vulcans quarterback Davis Black threw for 364 yards and a touchdown. John Hutchinson had two sacks on defense. East Stroudsburg went to 9-2 on the 2023 season. California fell to 7-3 on the season.

Shepherd 49 Mercyhurst 25

Rams quarterback Seth Morgan threw for 296 yards and four touchdowns. Wideout Jeremia Taylor had seven catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns as Shepherd defeated Mercyhurst. Lakers quarterback Adam Urena threw for 290 yards and two touchdown passes to Braydon Black who had 11 catches for 181 yards. Shepherd improved to 9-2 on the season. Mercyhurst ended their season with a 2-9 record.

Edinboro 36 Lock Haven 30

Fighting Scots running back Brian Trobel had four rushing touchdowns and Isaac Bernard threw for 194 yards and a touchdown as Edinboro defeated Lock Haven. Bald Eagles quarterback Kyle Zajack threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Chris Collier rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown. Edinboro finished their season with a 3-8 mark. Lock Haven ends with a record of 5-6.

Seton Hill 30 Millersville 10

Griffins quarterback Jake Cruz threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns. Wideout Mark Bails Jr caught four passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns as Seton Hill defeated Millersville. Marauders running back Jaquan Howard rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown. Seton Hill ends their season at 6-5. Millersville ended the 2023 campaign with a 3-8 record.

West Chester 34 Clarion 7

Golden Rams defensive back Izaiah McPherson recorded three of the five interceptions the West Chester defense had and running back Dayshawn Jacobs rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns as the Golden Rams got the victory in Bill Zwaan’s final game as Head Coach over Clarion. Golden Eagles quarterback Will Aleander threw a touchdown pass to Corahn Alleyne. West Chester ended their season with a 6-5 mark. Clarion fell to 2-9 to end the 2023 season.

Shippensburg 17 Gannon 10 

Raiders defensive back Mike Brewer returned an interception 59 yards for a touchdown as he recorded two interceptions on the day Running back Josiah Leonard added a rushing touchdown as Shippensburg defeated Gannon. The Golden Knights defense recorded seven sacks and Cooper Mullins returned a fumble 33 yards for a touchdowns. Obi Ezeigbo and Charles Calhoun each recorded two sacks. Shippensburg finishes with a 3-8 mark. Gannon ended their season with a 5-6 record.
