Reading Red Knights Rally for their first win against J.P McCaskey Red Tornado.
Both teams throughout the course of this year have not been able to find consistent success but, this one was for something more. Senior Night for the Red Tornado had Crusader Stadium packed with support for their nine seniors. J.P McCaskey won the toss and elected to receive on this emotional night. This drive for the Red Tornado ended in a demoralizing penalty after a Johnzell Trowery-Sibley deep ball got called back for holding. The Reading Red Knights were looking to draw first blood the next drive but failed to convert on 4th and short.
Johnzell Trowery-Sibley showed up again for his team, this time without penalty leading to a Quinnes Jones-Hawkins rushing touchdown for a 6-0 lead. Following this score, the Red Knights responded in just a few plays down the field, courtesy of Sophomore Daron Wilkins.

Just an 8-6 score in the 2nd quarter, J.P McCaskey Senior Armani Rivera fumbled on their next possession and lost any slight shift of momentum. The Tornado defense picked them up, forcing a punt. The entirety of the second quarter was quiet with very little highlights. Penalties and punts were the story of the quarter. Then, Qua’May Pettway during the next Tornado possession fumbled near the redzone, closing the half.

In the second half, things started to pick up just a bit. The Reading Red Knights opened the half with a fumble on their possession, practically gift-wrapping momentum for the Red Tornado. As they were driving, the Knights stole momentum yet again with an interception from Lisander Tavares, thrown by Liam Stinchfield. The Knights capitalized just 3 minutes later with another rushing score from Daron Wilkins, making the score 14-6 and closing the third.

Still a one possession game in the 4th quarter, J.P McCaskey was running out of chances. Their next possession, their eyes were set on 6. Until, one moment they were driving, another they were backed up. Liam Stinchfield was then strip sacked by Red Knights defensive lineman Myles Smith. Fortunately, it was to no harm as the Tornadoes reclaimed momentum with an Amauri Paula forced fumble. Penalties had changed the complexion of this game up to this point and it hadn’t stopped either. Quinnes Jones-Hawkins racked an impressive catch & run that was called back for holding similar to the first quarter. They forced themselves into a 4th & short with the game on the line to this point. Liam Stinchfield rolled out right and looked for an open Armani Rivera in the flat, but his pass was batted at the line, leaving Reading a first down away from victory formation. The Red Knights earned the line to gain and put this one to bed.
