Ty’Meere Wilkerson breaks his own single game rushing records against the same team he set the previous mark in 2024

BERWICK- It was said that New York Yankee legend Yogi Berra said “It’s deja Vu all over again”. Well Friday night at Crispin Field had to feel the same way for Bulldog running back Ty’Meere Wilkerson, it was just last season he set the school record for rushing yards in a game with 366 against Williamsport. Flash forward to 2025 against the Millionaires, Wilkerson topped that performance by rushing for 393 yards on on 26 carries five touchdowns in a 63-19 convincing win before a packed house.

Wilkerson got scoring started for Berwick on their opening drive, as he took a toss to his left side got around the edge and deposited the rock in the end zone from 47 yards out to make it a 7-0 score with just over a minute played in the contest.

On Berwick’s next drive after blocking a Williamsport punt, Gabe Decker would find his way into the end zone making the score 14-0 with 6:04 left in the opening quarter.

Williamsport used two field goals by Brayden Ungard in the first half, one from 39 yards the other from 30 yards right at intermission. Sandwiched between those two scores was a frozen rope of a pass from quarterback Tevin Williams to Trey Damschroder touchdown pass to try to keep the Millionaires somewhat in the ballgame at 35-19 at halftime. Williams also had a 14 yard run for a score.

Caleb May also added a touchdown run for the Bulldogs in the first half before Wilkerson added another explosive run from 65 yards out making a the score 28-7 with 11:49 left in the second quarter. Wilkerson averaged over 16 yards a pop against a Williamsport defense that loaded the box with 10 or 11 men at times, and yet the Berwick line opened up some massive holes all evening.

By halftime the New Hampshire commit had 280 yards rushing with another long touchdown run from 60 yards with still over three minutes to play in the 2nd quarter.

“All the credit goes to the offensive line, everybody got in the act of blocking including our fullbacks, tight ends and receivers down field. The defense pitch a shout-out in the second half, just a great team effort.” Wilkerson stated after the game.

Berwick finished the night with 518 yards of total offense- all via the ground game. Berwick went on to score three more times in the third quarter with a 45 yard jaunt by Wilkerson that broke his record with still 4:57 left in the third quarter to make it 56-19.

Brayden Cleaver would score from 35 yards out and Sawyer Keller would close out the scoring for the home team with a five yard score in the last minute of the third quarter. Berwick moves now to 8-0 and will be home next Friday to face the 1-7 Selinsgrove Seals, who dropped a 42-14 decision to Hollidaysburg Friday. Williamsport now 4-4 will have another daunting task as they face that Hollidaysburg team who is also unbeaten at 8-0.

Here is what Wilkerson had to say after the game Friday.

Wilkerson now has just over 1,900 yards rushing on the season and crossed the goal line 26 times, his coach CJ Curry had this to say about his teams’ effort against Williamsport
