In a close defensive battle, the Richland Rams took down the Forest Hills Rangers with a final score of 21-13. Richland allowed just six points on defense and Forest Hills finished with two interceptions, including a pick six, which came on the second drive of the game from Chase Williamson. Along with the interception, Williamson added a receiving touchdown and 71 receiving yards.

Head Coach Justin Myers said, “Chase is a big leader and our go to guy. He makes a lot of catches for us, but we have a lot of guys who make plays. Chase just happened to be the guy tonight and made a lot of plays tonight.”

It was tough for Forest Hills to move the ball on Richlands defense as Joe Penna finished the night with 3 sacks. The Rams also had two more sacks from Nate Pugh and Austin Blough. They also prevented Cornell from completing passes as he finished the night with eight completions on 19 attempts.

Head Coach Brandon Bailey said, “The defense played great. Our assistants drew up good schemes and our kids executed a fabulous job tonight.”

Forest Hills also had excellent defense causing a multiple of turnovers, but could not slow down Joe Mcaneny. He finished the night with two rushing touchdowns and 105 all purpose yards.

Coach Bailey said, “He’s a tough kid. It’s his first year playing a lot of running back and had a big game tonight. He is a big strong kid and he is really fast.”

Sophomore Jamere Christian also had a very good night, playing great at defensive back and making lots of Ranger defenders miss with his incredible juke moves. Those jukes led him into the endzone on a 20 yard receiving touchdown where he made two jukes that made three defenders miss.

This win improved Richlands record to 4-1 and they travel to Somerset next week. Forest Hills dropped to 2-3 and will travel to Bedford next week.
